Returning to MCO During Rush Hour

We have a Wednesday, 12/15 flight out of MCO at 6:30 PM. I've reserved a car from National for our trip and assume I'll be driving back to MCO on 12/15 right in the thick of rush hour. Right now the car reservation is for pick-up and return at MCO. Given the time of our drive to the airport, would I be better off to return the car to the Dolphin (probably the afternoon of the 14th) and hire a towncar service for our trip back to MCO?

Don't think it really matters. Cause returning cars at National have never taken me more time than it took to put it in park and take out my luggage, and they where handing me my reciept. The short walk across the street from the garage, and you just find your airline. BUT remember with all the SECURITY measure I would give yourself a little extra time, just in case.

On the tollway (I think, 417?) to the airport from WDW you are not really in heavy traffic much. It stays away from Orlando, to the east and out of the way. The only time we had trouble was backed up at a toll booth, once. The ride itself takes about a 1/2 hr. without stops. The only help here that a towncar might have a advantage is with the florida fastpass thru the tollbooth's.

Just avoid I-4 and take 417 to the airport. You won't have any traffic problems at all. Should only take you 25-35 minutes max to MCO.

Another vote for 417!
I-4 can look like a parking lot at times, but 417 typically is wide open, except for the waits at the tollboothes.

I've driven 417 to and from the airport during the afternoon rush hour time and it was no big deal. It's south of the main part of Orlando so it doesn't get alot of traffic. You'll be fine.
