returning souvenirs

I am sure there is going to be lots of stuff we will want to buy. Just in case we buy something in one store, but then see something better we want in another store, can we return items to any store in the park or do we have to go back to the original store? Also, does anyone know if we can also return items at the gift shop in our hotel? When we went to Universal Studios last year, we were able to return items at the gift shop at our hotel, instead of having to go back to the original store in the park.

I've not had to do it, but I've heard that if you see something you like better you can exchange it at that store.

What I do is carry a very small notebook and pen and if I see something I like I write what it is, where I see it, and the price. At the end of the week I decide for sure what items I want and go to the store in DTD which has almost everything the parks do for the same price (unless it's ride related or from World Showcase). With an AP you can get 10% off all purchases at the DTD Store. If I don't find something that's left on my list then I'll have to run back to the original place I found it, but that seldom happens. The ride related items or World Showcase items I just go ahead and buy and have the store ship back to my resort. I usually have an idea what I'm going to buy before I even leave home.

You can return the items anywhere including the hotel gift shop.

Be sure you have your receipt. My MIL bought DD a hat and it ripped at the seam in 2 days. We spent the rest of our trip looking for the hat. We didn't go back to MK because we figured we could find it. On the last night we went to DTD and tried to return it and she said because they didn't carry the item we couldn't return it w/o a receipt. Eventually she did, since the item was defective, but it took a lot of begging from dh.

I do the same as you! I already have a good idea of what I want and I have a little memo pad I make notes with in each shop.

I once had to return a top that didn't fit my mom and we were able to return it at the gift shop at the resort (CBR).
