Returning rental car to RPR

Hi, while we are in Florida in October we will have a rental car from Hertz which we plan to drop off at RPR when we check in there.

However we will be arriving later in the evening, and I have just noticed on our booking receipt that the Hertz desk will be closed. Since Hertz have accepted our booking, presumably there is some place to leave the car or something? Does anybody know?

I have been trying to contact them but seem to be having a problem getting through, so thought I'd ask here in the meantime.

I'm assuming by "hire car" you mean a "rental car". Usually the term hire car implies that the car comes with a driver rather than rental car which is a car that you rent and drive yourself.

I have not done this in Orlando but have done this at other locations (usually smaller towns across the country). At the location where I did this years ago there was a drop box for the keys. So I returned the car and placed the keys in the locked drop box. All worked fine. The only downside of this is that you aren't there when they inspect the car so you can't despute any damage claims.

And thanks for your reply too. It's a good point about the inspection, but if we keep it overnight we will have to pay parking, so I guess we'll just have to take some pictures and hope for the best.
