Returning rental car to Dolphin

Does it cost extra to pick up your car at the airport and turn it in at the Dolphin? How do you go about booking that?

We'll use either National or Alamo since they offer this option. The agent didn't seem to know much, so I'm depending on my budget buddies.

We need to get from MCo to the AKL. DS is driving to meet up with us late the first evening. I'd love to rent a car for just the first day and spend the rest of the rental money on Mickey bars but don't want to give up the time to drive all the way to the airport and back since we have only the weekend together.

We've decided to return our car at the Dolphin since we have an early flight and it will be faster to hop out of a cab with the kids than to stop for gas and return the rental car and schlep to the terminal. DH is on a company sponsored trip so the cab fare will be reimbursed. When I made the reservation, it didn't look like there was an extra fee to return at the Dolphin but I guess it would depend on where they need their cars. If there's a shortage at the airport, they might charge extra to encourage you to bring it back rather than have a bunch of cars sitting at the Dolphin.

When you are booking your car, shop it at both rates, returning it at the airport or returning it at the Dolphin, sometimes it makes no difference, sometimes its a big difference.

Just thought I'd let you know how easy returning a car to the Dolphin is. A valet meets you at the front drive, takes all of your information, and you're done. No waiting in lines. Last year when I booked, it was cheaper for a one way rental than cab fare or town car service. I never need a car once I'm on property, so this is the way I'll go from now on.
