Returning Magic Bands?

I ended up buying MagicBands from shopDisney for my upcoming Disney trip, however, the plain colored ones that come with my resort stay have already shipped and should be here tomorrow.

Is there a way to send the solid colored ones back or a place to drop them off at the resort or something, just for recycling purposes? Seems like a waste for them to just be forever unused.

Thanks

They might come in handy, especially if anyone in your group is forgetful. If you have the room, it doesn’t hurt to bring along the extras. Over the past two trips, my son forgot his one day and my mother misplaced hers for 36 hrs.

Oh boy, it you think having more than one magic band is a waste you’d hate to see how many are on my account!

They will have your names on and Disney doesn’t recycle. Keep them and you can switch back and forth when the mood strikes! Or last time I went I wore one of my plain ones to the pool instead of one of the specialty ones and I was glad I did cause I banged it up pretty good on a rock.

Mine fell off once. I think it was before we got on Expedition Everest, but never was sure. I got a new one at the resort - luckily we were heading back after that ride anyway. My replacement was boring old gray. Would have been much better to have a spare in my backpack, especially if we weren't planning to go back to the resort.

But we can't have lids on cups to save the environment. I know I'm beating a dead horse, but this just irks me.

Small tip concerning bands, we started putting the year on the bands with our name. Like Jo-jo 19, that way we only take the two most recent ones with us. Once when we couldn't open our door, we had a CM say to us, you must have brought back a really old band, nope, Jo-jo 18 and Jo-jo 19.

Yeah the straw and lid thing drives me nuts. I’m clumsy I don’t particularly want to carry a tray full of open drinks. Yes I’ve knocked over drinks before and the lid was the only thing that saved the food. Or at least maybe put some effort into making a better alternative. You can’t tell me that those paper straws that don’t last a full drink are the absolute best they could do.

I got an AP for the first time ever, so I’m collecting a lot of ‘19 bands! I also may have purchased a few.......
