Returning borrowed points...

Just cancelled a reservation and it did not return the points to 2021.

Already upset about cancelling. Now I think I'm really going to cry!

It is not done automatically and can take up to 2 weeks. At one time, the system would sweep up and return points every Thursday.

I had some that were returned one week, and the next week it moved back the rest,

If you need them right away, give MS a call and ask if you can get them moved without waiting.

My points are a mess. I've got banked, borrowed, only 5 (yes five) current UY, and some OTU points. Yikes.

Don’t worry. My borrowed points were automatically returned this past Thursday after a cancellation a few days prior. You don’t need to call unless they are still there Friday.

Impossible to get 5. You have to book one at a time. Those are usually gone in seconds.

To attempt and make things go faster, just enter lead guest name. Don’t waste time changing address or adding other guests...you can do that after getting the room.

Once you book one, try for the next.
What you may have to do is stalk and hope people are walking and you can get at least more than one over time.

Phones open an hour after online booking so those rooms would be long gone by then. To be honest, you'll be very lucky to get 1 value studio in the morning.

ETA, online booking starts at 8, phones open at 9.

No, the person meant they have only 5 current UY points left in their account, but lots of the other points!

Follow up / new problem:

After getting my 2021 points back, I was already "too late" on booking Thanksgiving 2021 week.

So, I've been picking up nights in a standard studio at BWV as people obviously walk by and adjusting a waitlist accordingly each time I grabbed a day. I had November 19-24 but couldn't get the 25th. Ultimately, I wanted Nov 21-26 but had been simply taking whatever days as I could assuming we'd have to adjust our plans if need be. So, when I made a waitlist for November 25 I chose "do not borrow" and meant to go drop the 19th off my reservation to free up points, but I forgot. Low and behold, this morning, my waitlist has been fulfilled but they borrowed my 2022 points for it!

I am 99.9% sure I chose "do not borrow". Is there a way to see my previous waitlist requests? I don't want to ask them to fix it if I made the error, but if it's their mistake....

Also, I completely realize if they didn't borrow, I wouldn't have the room, so I did make a mistake as well by not freeing up the points.

I always screenshot when I waitlist as that shows what you chose. If you don’t do that I don’t think there is a way to check.
