Okay all you ebayers out there... Can you return an item that you purchased on ebay? This is only the 2nd item I bought on ebay, a pair of new polo pants and they are too big.

I don't want to offend the seller about returning an item if it is not allowed.

And if it is allowed how do you go about it... contacting the seller...etc.

Thanks for all you help... I am new to ebay

Go back to the listing, and there is a link that you can click on to contact the seller.
I have never returned anything, but did the auction say anything about no refunds, or such?

The seller is not obligated to accept returns unless they stated they would. I have gotten a couple of things that didn't work out for me, I just turned around and sold them on eBay.

I bought a 100% Authentic Coach backpack from a seller on ebay, which, of course wasn't....authentic...

The seller had "satisfaction guaranteed" in the auction, and in his/her feedback, many people had returned Coach items to them. I returned the item, was VERY quickly given a refund INCLUDING shipping/handling, so luckily I was out nothing. I have no idea what I was thinking when I made the purchase. But since the feedback indicated quick refunding, I took the chance on the purse. NEVER again....

These kind of sellers are "fishing" . They can keep up their good feedback because people who are unhappy with the fakes get a prompt, full, and courteous refund, so they (myself included) are not apt to give bad feedback. And once in a while, someone will decide to keep that $100 knockoff that probably cost them $10...

You will find that MOST ebay'ers will NOT accept returns. I do not, accept returns.

So unless the item was mis stated, meaning it said size 2 and you got a 12, then I think you are out of luck.

But as was stated contact the seller of the item and see if they will accept a return. Also depending on what you paid for the item and shipping you might be better off to just keep them, since you would be paying for shipping them back and would likely only get the return of your bid price, not shipping and handling.
