Returning a 'used' broken product after buying another...

Do you return the broken 'frame'?

  • Yes, if less than 6 months old it is still in the 'new' and the packaging doesn't matter

  • No, that it is unethical to return it in other packaging

How did the frame go from looking fine to looking cheap in 5 months? Was it dropped, water damage, corrosion on metal pieces?

Warranties are supposed to cover manufacturing defects, so if the frame was just hanging like normal and fell apart without any outside interference, I wouldn't feel bad about returning it.

I had to do this with a set of suspenders once. I ordered one, and some of the silver clips looked awful. I ordered a second set, kept the best four clips from the two sets, and returned the four worst ones.

No, but as a former website administrator, it is the preferred way to operate a message board. Fewer posts make for happier users. This is the only board I have been on where a "Zombie thread" exists. I found one thread on one of the classic car boards I visit that went back 20 years.
It's brought up all the time on Cruise Critic. It might be the preferred way YOU want to operate. Not everyone agrees with you (as should be obvious at all the people who call out "Zombie threads").

I don't really care, just what generates more hits. More hits means more money for the owner of the board.

So more threads on a subject would be more hits, right? If someone is that interested in a subject, they'd read multiple threads.

Apparently not, according to the research. Or so they said in our training classes.
