I 've been home 4 days from my trip to Cbr and I'm sorry that I could not write sooner. We loved are trip beside the rain and the resort I belive we have stayed at nicer Disney resorts. This was just such a big resort and well extremly colorful. I would haved perfred the wilderness lodge or the animal kingdom lodge. We found that are resort was a bit of a drive to the things we did and the busing system was terrible we waited almost 1/2hr at the magic kingdom to get a bus back to the resort when the park closed. Even though there were 2 buses running. all the other resorts had buses running about every ten mins. Also we loved the fact that are housekeeper left us a little towel bunny that held our tooth brushes. We did not travel with our daughter this time but I belive that was a good thing since we nevered stayed at the resort. When we arrived the first night we toured the grounds and found that the main pool was a bit smaller then the CS resort and was quite full. They did have life quards which was a good thing. We ate off property so I don't know how the food was. I do suggest that you purchase the refillable mug for 10.95 becouse there where tons of ppl who had them and kept them full all the time. We also woke up saterday morning to a flat tire and I called the main desk for help within an hour there was someone there to fix it free of charge. I belive for a family this a great place if you plan to not stay around the resort much but when went to the wilderness lodge to tour the property there were so many children and so much to do. We also went to the arabbin nights dinner show which I recommen to everyone its worth all the money to go. So I hope those of you who can't decide between CBR and CS To look closer at what hotel you choose as for my family and I will stay somewhere else on Disney property next time.

We just returned from the CBR yesterday. I personally did not like it for the same reason you stated. The busing was awful, luckily we always allowed ourselves plenty of time in the mornings to get where we wanted to go but it was pretty bad.

I didn't like being away from the food court either.
Although the service was wonderful & our maid was a gem the CBR would not be my first choice to stay.
Just because of the busing.

The food court was decent & everyone found something to eat so I can't complain there.

My major grip is the bus transportation

Did you voice your complaints about the transportation to anyone? If you don't tell someone they won't know there is a problem.

Have you all stayed at any other moderates how did their transportation compare??? I haven't made my reservations yet because I can't decide where to stay. We were going to stay at Poly but I am very concerned that the time saved being at a monorail resort will be taken up by the poor bathroom situation. There will probably be 5 maybe 6 of us so our fav. WL is out for this trip, its one room at deluxe or 2 at a moderate.

pokeysmom and anyone else having transportation questions. I suggest you post on the transportation topic. You will get more information.

There are those that have problems with transportation and many more that had great experiences.

If you have any questions about the CBR transportation I suggest you read the CBR FAQ's below.

Those that have problems tend to post more than those that had great experiences.

If you are leaving the park at the end of the evening I would imagine everyone has a wait to get back to their resort. It took me over a half an hour to get the monorail to get back to the TTC at MK at closing.

CBR is a great resort. It isn't a deluxe so it isn't fair to compare it to one. There is much to do at CBR for everyone. When we stay there we don't feel the need to go elsewhere in the evenings.

I have stayed at CS before and had a great time even though it was 35 outside in november. The resort is beautiful and there was never a long wait we were the only ones at are bus stop when we used the busing system. It was nice at night to walk around at night the food was good in the pepper market and WE would go back anytime but if you want to stay in a deluxe resort why not the cabins at fort wilderness? they sleep 5-6 ppl. or do Cs and ask for joinging rooms. Hope you have a great trip.

I personally liked CSR over CBR. Though CSR is big...CBR is BIGGER! A lot of bus stops at CBR before heading out to the parks. Only 4 stops at CSR and the bus is continous, we didn't have to wait too long for the bus coming from the parks.

The atmosphere is nice at CBR...but I like the themeing at CSR better. This is my personal opinion. I love the pool at CSR better. And the kids loved the Dig Site.

I agree with the others who says that this moderate CSR feels like a deluxe resort.

I guess I am in the minority here then. To me CSR seems much bigger than CBR. There is also more walking from the walking lot to your room at CSR. I also waited a long time to get the bus at the main stop.

The room I stayed in several weeks ago didn't have the theming that everyone else remarks about. To me is looked like a mish mash of ideas. Maybe they will refurb those rooms.

CSR does have a bigger pool but I like the fact that CBR has the main pool and food court right next to each other.

I have stayed at CSR twice now and I am still looking for the magic in this resort.

It is so much fun to read all the different opinions on these boards.....but it is not fun when the one getting panned is the one we are staying at in August! LOL! We are looking forward to just hanging out on the beach & taking advantage of all the fun watercraft you can rent right there.....the atmosphere looks so comfortable & laid back....right up our alley!

Safetymom: if you would be so kind, email me & put my mind at ease....I see you on these boards all the time & made my decision partly by seeing your pictures & hearing your raves! My email is suedrews@adelphia.net....

Suedrews - I just want you to know that safetymom is not the only one out there who loves CBR! We love it there! IMHO this is the most relaxing resort in WDW. Enjoy!

Everyone has their favorite resort at Disney. No one is right or wrong. Just personal preferences.

Suedrews--we loved the CBR. Having stayed there 3x, you know there is a reason. Busses, ah, the whole waiting issue. Choose your battles. You may wait additional time at CBR for busses that MAY happen or it may not. What you lose in bus time you make up in theming. I loved the themed pool area. It was very crowded. We just grabbed a few chairs by the outdoor bar and had a few drinks and listened to the tropical music. It really does transport you to another place....very nice. We loved the quiet pools. Each village has their own pool. Ours in Barbados never had more than a few families there at any given time. So peaceful.
Each village also had laundry facilities. I laid by the pool and did laundry at the same time....i was able to pack lighter. Who doesn't like that.

The food court was very good. I had pot roast that was awesome.
I think they still have the pizza delivery so that was good as well.
Buy those mugs, it will save you a ton of money.

The CBR is very centrally located. It is right across the street from EPCOT and down the street from MGM, Typhoon Lagoon and DTD.
We loved it. We're just getting older and moved up to a deluxe and then my cousins became DVC members....Otherwise, we'd still be at CBR, we still talk about our times there.

Enjoy. Remember when reading these posts, everyone has distinct preferences and opinions. Your experiences at Disney will be uniquely yours.

The picture that the ppl from disney tell you to look at of the hotel are not the same has what the hotel looks like b/c we went based on photos and it wasn't what it seem the rooms are not done in creams and browns but there done in a very tropical way with green leaf floor carpeting and blue, pinks a green comforters it tropical also we saw no one those watercrafts or even down by the beach area it looks more like a lake with sand don't get me wrong CBR is beautiful it just wasn't for us. We seemed misguided about this hotel as far as it being located yes it right around the corner to mgm and epcot but it's about 10-15 min from disney atleat that what the drive feels like not to mention the what time for the buses there 7-8 stops through out the resort before your even out of the hotel. We drove to mgm in our car since parking is free to resort guest. I also found out if your at disney and want to go to down town disney then you can't just get a bus to downtown but you have to back to the resort and pick up the bus from there. I do suggest the boat ride to the wilderness lodge to see the fireworks it's a great free show and the do a lighted show in the water for the guest there around 9:45 p.m. so we got to see that as well and as a guest at a disney resoet you can go to any of the other resort and check them out.

I have pictures on my site of the rooms at CBR.

As far as the boats every time we have been there they are always out on the lake. We try to rent every time that we go.

The lake is not Bay Lake but it is very nice for boating and it sure adds to the tropical feel of the resort.

It doesn't take us long to get anywhere on property since we have a car.

The theming in the rooms at CBR is bright and colorful and contributes to the overall tropical feel. It is nice having 2 sinks and the curtain that separates the room.

CBR is a great moderate resort. They changed how to get buses for Downtown Disney because too many off site guests were parking at DTD and using the free transportation. That is why you have to catch the bus to/from the resorts.

I just wished I was more informed that's all, The trip is magical and it's what you make of it. I just want ppl to be able to know the things we experinced at the resort. I hope everyone enjoys there time at disney.
