Hello! Just as a quick introduction, I haven't posted on here much but I HAVE been lurking for about a year now - I originally joined in preparation for a WDW trip that never happened...but will hopefully soon! Florida 2009 has become Florida 2011!!! So yes, you probably haven't seen me before but trust me I have been here
ANYWAY. Onto more important matters, my pre trip report!! This is my first ever one so please do bear with me! I've read an awful lot of trip reports for both Paris and Florida so I do feel like I've done my homework
I love reading them so was fully intending to write one whenever we got around to actually booking a holiday. Which we now have! So let us begin.
The Cast!
Libby (Me!) 22, will be 23 at the time of the holiday eeeeeek growing up so fast! Absolute Disney nutcase, loves loves loves to plan and organise hence the obsessive planning of this trip. Favourite film is THE LITTLE MERMAID but closely followed equally by The Lion King, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast. (Couldn't possibly choose.) I love the classics! I also love Pixar stuff obviously but the oldies will always have a special place as I grew up watching them and have many fond memories. Awwww. A little bit about me...I graduated from Uni in July with a 2:1 in Graphic Communication yay and was very surprised to land a brilliant job as soon as I returned home
No-one was more shocked than me! So currently working full time which is a bit of a shock to the system after the student lifestyle but I'm working through it. I've been to Florida four times when I was younger with the fam and Disneyland Paris a couple of times with them and once with my gorgeous boyfriend
I enjoy using the super grinning smiley a lot on Facebook etc but there doesn't seem to an animation on here
so I'll just keeping doing
because it sums me up the best! Unless anybody knows the code for a similar smiley which would be very helpful!
This is me!
Ben (Benj, Benji, Banjo) My boyfriend of 6 looooong years
22 and will be 22 at the time of the holiday as he is my toyboy
. He is not quite as obsessed with Disney as I am but still quite a fan, his favourite film is Oliver and Company (unusual choice...also very hard to track down related gifts for this film as I found when trying to buy him a cuddly Oliver. I found one though, in the end
) He is also a huge fan of all new Disney and Disney Pixar films and is trying to make me watch all of them before we go to Paris. Which I really should do as I feel very out of the loop with my 90's classics!! He graduated from Uni last year, we did the long distance thing for 4 years with great success
But now we are both home which is nice! Also nice to both have a bit of money for lovely holidays!
Benji!
Us!
The Holiday
So we went to DLP together in 2007, stayed at the Hotel Explorers and had an absolutely stunning time, I shall include some photos at the end of us from this holiday. Also, for about 3 years now we've been trying to save the money to go to Florida but this was proving fairly tricky as neither of us had an income, but NOW WE DO and thus Florida 2011 is on the cards
But before that, we are going to Disneyland Paris for a well earned break as we are both very keen to see the new Toy Story Playland! And the Tower of Terror because it wasn't there last time!!
Umm we don't dress like this anymore. And I'm sure Ben would like me to assure you his hair is no longer like this. (I actually loved it! He, on reflection, did not.)
In our Hotel Explorers which we absolutely loved, would definitely go back there again but we are excited about being so close to the parks and able to walk
THE EVIL EMPEROR ZURG!!! In the old Pizza Planet! Excited to see the buffet!
Awww love this photo, what amazing weather we had!!
I carried this balloon all the way home to Southampton hehehe!
So we are going 26-30th September, 5 days/4 nights at the Hotel Santa Fe.
We booked wayyyy back in April when I saw the 40% off deal and got extremely over excited, so we actually got an amazing price, I have the receipts and stuff in front of me and can tell you that we paid...£420 for the hotel and tickets for both of us. And also £79 I think for the direct Eurostar.
We will be travelling to London on the Saturday morning (We live in Southampton) and staying at a Travelodge for the night - I also managed to get us an awesome hotel package which includes tickets to a matinee showing of Dreamboats and Petticoats (I love anything 1950's) that basically cost £5 more each than the cost of the hotel alone would! So that was fairly exciting. Then we'll get the Eurostar Sunday morning and our holiday will begin!! OOOOhhhhhhh I'm so excited already.
I began doing an itinerary today (Ben actually requested one which was a bit of a shock!) which I'll post when it's finished if anyone would like to see. I know it's only a little holiday not like a massive WDW one but I still find it useful to have a guide to what we are doing each day
We have already decided we are going to do Buffalo Bill's, Annettes Diner and the tour thingy in the Disneyland Park as that sounds really interesting and we are both quite nerdy about things like that. Also we are planning to go in to Paris on the Tuesday which I actually really need to start organising :/ We figure 4 days will be plenty of Disney fun and can't really pass up the opportunity to go to Paris as neither of us have been. Theres quite a lot of info on here which I just need to sift through, decide what we need to see etc. Oooh Paris, how romantic!!
So that is IT, cannot believe I've waffled on for quite this long but I hope it was enjoyable, can you even imagine how long my pre-trippie for Florida will be. Literally will need an entire board for myself :/ Hopefully you all won't mind me asking lots of questions in the run up to the holiday as I plan everything
Just over a month to go woooooooo!!!!
