Return to the Madness: Part 10 Day 6 3/3 MK EMH!
Cast:
Me: Obsessive Disney Planner, Disney Commando in 12 step program learning how to do Disney with kids!!!
DH 30- Loves Disney as much as me, but content to sit at the pool and watch the kids
DD6- knows everything, or thinks she does
DD5- loves everything, especially if it is pink
DS4- loves Buzz. We call him Stitch, he is messy and destructive, but very cute.
After the Pirate Adventure in the morning, and a fun time at MGM, we happily headed to the Magic Kingdom. We debated about taking the bus to TTC and then going to MK from there, but ended up heading back to the WL to drop off some of the stuff we had acquired throughout the day. We dropped the pictures off at the room, made sure everyone had sufficient layers for the evening, and sweatshirts, made a quick potty stop, and caught the boat over to MK!. I wasnt too sure how the wrist band distribution would work, after reading online about 30 min waits. I told DH if the lines at the entrance were too long, we could find another one in the park. To my surprise, the wristband handout was VERY efficient. I shouldnt have been surprised, I guess, but I was. We got our wristbands and started trying to decide what to do for dinner. I had mentioned Tonys to DH earlier in the day and he wanted to try there. Since we didnt have a PS, and it was around 5pm I wasnt sure how long the wait would be. I went to put our name in and was told 30-45 minutes. DH thought would be okay, so we waited. I noticed there were tons of open seats outside, so I asked about them. I was told three times that the wait for those tables was an hour. No one was being seated in them, and I just couldnt understand why it would take longer to be seated outside. After we waited for over 45 minutes, and our name had still not been called, we made an executive decision to go somewhere else. Actually, there is slightly more to it than that. My watch had stopped working properly earlier in the day. I wasnt too upset since I only paid 4$ for it. I never wear a watch normally, I usually use my cell phone. But since we were at Disney I wanted to have a watch I got it at Target for 4$ I thought it was a great deal! It was water proof/resistant, so I had left in on pretty much the whole trip even with all the trips to the pool! Well, on the way over to MK, I noticed it was blank (it was a digital). I took it off and put it in my pouch. When I was looking through my pouch for the photo pass card, I noticed that the watch was working again. I thought it was weird, but hey, who am I to question it. So I put it back on. What I failed to do, though, was check to see it had the correct time. (I thought it was pretty close, but wasnt too sure.) When we made the decision to leave Tonys, my watch said it was 6pm. We figured that if we waited to be seated, we would still be there at 7pm, and we would miss Wishes. This was our last night at Disney, so we couldnt miss Wishes!!! So we decided to go stake out our Wishes spot, and grab dinner from Cosmic Rays, and eat while we waited for Wishes.
We went to the Rose Garden to the right of the garden. This is our favorite spot to watch Wishes. There is a little picture spot where the view of the castle is perfect. We did this several times during our trip in August and had no problems. This time, though, a CM told us we could not stay there since it was a picture spot. He said we were interfering with everyones opportunity to take pictures there. We moved back a little, until some others decided to camp out in that same spot. Whenever someone wanted to take a picture, we moved it didnt seem to be a problem, and the CM didnt say anything to us after that.
Also, there was a woman who told us that there would be a model taking pictures on the grass right in front of where we were standing during Wishes. She said it would not obstruct our view, and that we were by no means in the way, she just wanted to let us know. We ate our burgers and hot dogs, and finished us just in time for Wishes to start. It was so beautiful. The pictures they took of the model must have come out awesome she was twirling around and posing as the fireworks went off! (Cant wait to find that add!)
After Wishes was over, we headed for Tomorrowland. Buzz was our priority. There were lots of people heading out of the parks. Many were commenting on the fact that some people seemed to think they could stay. We made our way upstream, an made it to Buzz. Even though there were lots of people around, no one was in line. We walked right on. I scored about 450,000, but still couldnt beat DH. Luckily, DD6 somehow got 900,000. DH couldnt believe it! He could never beat that!!! And it was our last night! It was priceless!!!
After Buzz, the crowds had thinned down a lot. We thought about doing Space Mountain, but DD6 didnt want to so it was off to Fantasyland. We did the teacups, with no wait. Then we headed for Pooh. It had about a 20 minute wait. Everyone got in line, while I went to grab FPs for Peter Pan which also had a 20 minute wait. When I got back to the family, we were next up at Pooh. We enjoyed this ride. The kids love to bounce like Tigger. I have noticed, though, that the heat always seems to be on in this ride. I actually took my sweatshirt off. (Then had to put it back on once we left the ride, it was cold!!)
We then took our ride off to Neverland. The kids wanted to do Haunted Mansion in the dark. It was so much spookier at night!! We about riding Pirates again, but the vote was not to. It had been a long, busy day. I thought the evening EMH were better than the morning ones, once the crowds left, it was much less crowded than the morning.
We took the boat back to the WL and headed for bed.
