We've only spent 1 nt. @ the Poly (garden view), but spent most of the day & evening exploring & enjoying the resort. My DD really loved the pool and I liked the huge room. However, DD now wants to try CR (tower) for 2 nts. in Aug. The other 6 nts. will be at POR. Pros for CR: we can walk back from E-ride @ MK and catch a direct boat to FW for the campfire. Cons for CR: pool area has very little shade & resort theme isn't very enticing to me. What should we do? It's just DD (11) & me. Thanks!:)

The rooms in the CR are also huge. And the monorail going through the building is really cool. If your DD would like to try the CR, I would say you should go there. I don't know if you're considering the Tower, but views are just spectacular from there.

Even though I love the Poly and have never been to CR, I would say to go with DD and treat her this once. I imagine that the theme of CR won't appeal to her much longer because she'll soon be a teenager. You can go back to the Poly another day.

Not really a big advantage. During my 10-day stay at the CR I only walked to the MK once! The monorail station is just outside of the entrance of MK and they come so frequently that I found it faster just to catch the monorail back to the resort.

BIG CON! Theming is non-existent for the Contemporary. It really fells like you are staying at an ordinary hotel and not a Disney resort. Sure it is pretty cool to have a monorial run through the hotel, but that gets old pretty fast. I definitely had much more fun staying at the Carribean Beach.

I have stayed at both. I liked the Poly better, but the kids all prefer CR. My kids are younger (2,4,and 6), so that may make a difference. They really liked the monarail going through the building. It is a quick walk to MK. We would walk there since there are multiple stops from the CR. But the CR is the first stop on the way back so don't walk. The kids also loved the caracter meal at Chef Mickeys much better than the caracter meal at Poly. They also liked the game room and food court better at CR. The pool was nicer at Poly, but the kids did not seem to notive. I will go to CR until the kids are older. There will be plenty of tome for me to pick resorts, I'll let the kids pick for now.

We have stayed at both and prefer the Poly, but that is not to say that the CR is not a great place to stay. I am always in favor of trying new resorts. I say give the CR a whirl! You can walk back from MK easily. Chef Mickey's is must!

Don't count on an e-ticket night until you get there. They have cancelled them for May and most of April.

Both resorts are very nice. :)
