Now that the selling prices for everything have changed, does anyone know what the best ROI is? (for buying something with a mule and trading it to my main to sell for credits, so my main can have credits for rooms). For instance, it used to be the HK shirt (buy 100, sell 50, now sells for 30, and the spiderweb wall used to buy for I think 200 and sell for 100).

Who knows what item has the best buying/selling ratio to get the most for my money when selling?

Thanks a bunch!

Mia, you just totally loss me.... And I do Economics and Business Studies for my A-level courses! lol

I probably think buying expensive but special stuff will give you a High ROI as they should give you more for selling it.

The highest has to be skull rock codes though. Ratio of 0:5 (you don't have to pay for it, and you get 5 credits for selling it.

If you already have Nemo chairs, their sell back value went from 10 credits to 100 credits.

I haven't looked at a lot of resale value lately for anything but the christmas stuff. I guess it's just like real life if you snooze ya loose. I can tell you the absolute best value for credit from mules is to buy stuff your main character actually wants and keep the main characters credits. This is 100% return.

I think the resell value for everything (except the tent room) is 20% of whatever you bought it for.

This is why you get 100 credits for the Nemo chairs now - they cost 500 credits.

So basically, the ROI is the same for everything. If you buy something and sell it, you get 20% of the cost.

I haven't found anything where this is different (except the tent room, which someone said you get 2,000 credits for, but you don't really buy that).

So if you plan on building mules for the purpose of buying stuff, transferring it to the main character, and then selling it, no matter what you buy, you're only going to get 20% of the credits that you're mule spent.

You're better off, as someone mentioned, buying the stuff you want with the mule, and then transferring that to the main, rather than trying to transfer credits. Just my two cents. :)

yes, yes.

Having oh, i dont know, 40 mules on standby with 2,500 credits each gives you 100,000 credits of buying power when new things come out. Those same mules, if they buy and you resell, only gives your main 20,000 credits.

only down side is that you cant really buy anything that is priced over 2,500 credits. I know all the rumors about carpet, and all that mumbo jumbo, but remember this. NOTHING has been priced over 2,000 credits in vmk so far. Sooooooooooooooo.....

It is much more worthwhile to just have a stable of mules on standby at this point.

oops, did I say that out loud? ;)

(btw, the spider web used to be bought for 200, and resell for 150 [now it resells for 50]. I think between husky and I, we prob bought a few thousand while the resale rate was still good lol)

Lol, I wasn't smart. I horded, so now I have a bunch of spider webs with no resale value, gr.

That just proves nothing is money in the bank with VMK, whereas if you save the credit or spend on what you want it pays off. I still have about 30 spider webs somewhere.

yes, yes, everyone says it is better to just buy things with mules and give to the main. But I want my main to have more CREDITS to use for rooms, film, things you cannot trade. that is why I was asking. Thank you for the info! Also, since DF is awesome at the HM game, I can get creds that way too :)

Ghosts pay out 5 credits a piece when you empty your back pack.

Well, this is not an answer to your question, just a comment, sort of off topic for this thread, but what the...

I loved the spider walls. Mule-code-buy-trade-sell... quick $1000 in my main guy's virtual pockets - 5 minutes. Every mule I created I made sure to use a fake email addy and some offensive user title like HarryButts that VMK wouldn't approve so I wouldn't be hogging titles (i.e. throw away clone). Then when each nifty little halloween costume came out I had plenty of pixel dough to buy them with. It was an efficient and productive way to pass the time.

I have a groovy wardrobe and one any self-respecting VMK bling boy would be proud of.

Now, I just buy... well, pretty much nothing anymore, and just get on VMK to hang out with the friends I have out there. I guess the whole virtual value of megapixel marketing has lost it's hold on me for a while, but I'll see something cool like the Narnia pin and buy a couple of them. Kinda the way I am in real life, at least for today.

that wasn't off topic, I have not studied the new resale deal but they have made a consious effort to make sure nothing has great resale to avoid the mass muling I beleive, so now as I have stated before buy what you want with the mules. Also I have been looking at the trade treads lately because I'm stuck at work - probably until next October ok it just seems that way because I can't play as much. But It appears if you studie the wants and willing to trade for you can find where to invest IF you are willing to get into the trade world. It seems expensive outfits and expensive furniture, magic or high priced pins will get you the best stuff walking around if people couldn't afford it they will trade whatever they have. A girl traded me Frosty for a crown (don't ask, it was a mule) so I netted 500 credit gain there I traded an extra fireworks didn't specify but the girl gave me quest items. So pricey stuff that kids can't afford will get the bet return in trade. But with Haunted mansion printing money everyone should be able to now have walking around credit.

I'm holding onto mine until next halloween, I think before halloween they will be valuable again.

They are already valuable since they are retired for now. I know coughcoolghoul is trying to trade for them!
