Return of the castaway club blue sling backpack?

The dream just ran out of wet dry bags. So now platinum is getting sling bag, luggage tag, towel, and light blue mickey lanyards. Gold and silver have the old clear lanyards with gold getting a luggage tag.

Well, I guess that is something to look forward to. They stopped the luggage tags before I turned gold and I had wanted to turn them into coasters like I had read about here! Curious to see if anything changes in the next month (probably not).

Getting on the Dream a week from today. We're Platinum. I would prefer the old black lanyards and new gifts, but I guess we're getting the opposite. 😣

I feel DCL could be handling this better. Maybe some sort of announcement on what is actually going on. Instead they seem content with just giving out random items with the thought that it is a free gift so you get what you get. I am just miffed because I did some spring cleaning before doing a B2B2B2B. I donated my beach bags because I figured I was about to get 4 more. Lesson learned.

On the plus side I decided that I could definitely live on a Disney cruise ship and 16 nights was not too much of a good thing. Only problem is now I am at work wondering why I can't get my Palo brunch or cabanas lunch. And the cafeteria won't accept my key to the world card.

Boarded the Dream today.. the unique assortment of gifts for Platinum

I’m miffed it’s not atleast the set of luggage tags…
Interesting....we just returned from the Dream yesterday and received the set of luggage tags with the sling bag, beach towel and light blue lanyards.

Anyone know what the Fantasy is giving out in Europe? We are gold and are doing our 10th cruise on the WBTA on 11/3. Thanks.

Well, that and having our name on the board at Castaway Cay...

Just got back from a week on the Treasure last weekend … met a nice couple who was on their 52nd cruise and were only getting off at castaway to see their name up on the board - nope. DCL hasn’t gotten around to it. They were very disappointed, and I’m not impressed either. Gonna refocus my hopes and dreams on towels and tumblers…

On the EBTA as Gold we got the sling bag and luggage tag, plus old lanyards (clear plastic, not Mickey shaped). I think Platinum got the same plus the beach towel. Pearl got the tote bag (instead of sling) and Mickey lanyards I think. Not sure about the rest, and no idea what'll last until the WBTA

I suspect DCL will wait and engrave a whole section of fence at once. As opposed to doing it individually for a family reaching their 50th cruise.

What's the "new style" towel?
It isn’t really new it is the circle one of Captain Mickey. I gave mine away to someone who was on there first cruise.

That would be so disappointing! I don’t know how long they waited from completing cruise 50 to starting 52, but I should think having it up within a few months is reasonable.

Towels and tumblers are definitely closer to my grasp. First platinum cruise coming up this summer…but at our rate of “about 3 cruises a year” we are quite a way from pearl!

Did they send in the paperwork? Also, apparently there was a disclaimer. I don't think it is automatic.

Submissions received after the initial deadline may be considered for future installations, but the number of submissions may vary.

Am guessing new Castaway gifts are caught up in the Tariff thing. If DCL was expecting to pay $10,000 to get a container full of stuff, I guess it went up to maybe $30,000 to get it released? (Made up the numbers). Now that there’s a 90 Day hiatus - maybe more Chinese goods will start flowing again.

Update: apparently those on the Fantasy now (just left Barcelona for its first cruise after the EBTA) got all the new stuff (tote, wet/dry bag, towels, glasses, and Mickey lanyards). 🤷‍♀️
Do you know if Platinum got the new black ones or they are still that weird blue? After I read this thread last night, I dug out a tote bag/lanyards from the last cruise to bring with us just in case.

Reading the fine print...fine. But why? It's not hard to do the engraving. Literally ten minutes. Maybe even five. Arrange for a cast member to place it on the next visit and it's done.

I'm a big DCL fan. I'm not one to bang on them treating repeat cruisers poorly, but this is just stupid bad optics. Fifty Cruises. C'mon. Not hard.

I never got paperwork - just kept checking the Castaway site until link showed up. Filled it out and never heard anything until a few weeks ago. Luckily it was done right before my 53rd cruise. Website says when they have 5 names or quarterly the slat is installed. DCL and I have a different definition of quarterly since this took 8 months.

we were on the May 3rd Treasure. That new backpack bag thing for CC members is kind of weird. I gave mine to this couple we met on the Avis shuttle who were beyond excited to go on their first cruise. I then didn't feel bad for buying the Treasure tote bag in Mickey's Main Sail. Now that bag is beautiful.
