I think they were used for the Wine & Dine Marathon this weekend -- they were brought to Epcot from backstage at MK (behind Splash Mountain, I believe)... then returned.

Oglet is right -- if it is returning, and word is that it will eventually return, it won't be anytime soon.

Nice that they get their own motorcade, though. Spectromotorcade !

Haven't the floats been in storage backstage ever since MSEP returned?

So in a way Spectromagic doesn't have to return because it never left.

Its just not put on stage right now.

I was under the understanding that Spectromagic went to California while MSEP came here. The rumors back then were that Spectromagic was actually at Disneyland. So now the floats are back in Florida?

There was a posting somewhere that talked about California not knowing what to do with the night time electric parade because they have the World of Color and other night time events going on. Maybe they decided to ship Spectro back now.

I'd just like to see MSEP once before they go back to Spectro.

I've been listening to the parade music and I know I will like Spectromagic better but it has been over 20 years since I've seen MSEP so I want to see it again.

This. They never left. I don't know how bad of a shape the floats are in, but they are being worked on presently and as of now the plan is for the refurbed Spectro to eventually re-replace MSEP.

Plans change, of course, so who knows what will really happen.

Nobody knows the original rumor was MSEP was to be gone this September with a refurbished Spectro back for the 40th. Then Spectro was going to Paris lol.

Obviously that didn't happen. The only reason MSEP even came to WDW was DL management were not sure how crowd flow would be with WOC.

Latest which will probaly change by the time you read this is that TDO will keep MSEP for thus Summer and the it will return to DL not DcA but DL.

There are/were two (mostly identical) copies of the Main Street Electrical Parade.

The Main Street Electrical Parade (MSEP) unit currently in Walt Disney World is the Disneyland MSEP unit, not WDW's own which has been gone for some time now (Indeed, the previous return of the MSEP to Florida was also Disneyland's version).

Never left FL. They've been in a backstage building, covered up since MSEP came in June of 2010.

Which statement above are you saying is not true?

Because WDW MSEP went to I think Tokyo and DL came to WDW as part of the Summer Spectacular and satyed.

I think it ran in both WDW and DL through in the 80s, at the same time -- which would mean there are two US versions, no? In fact, I think it was running in Anaheim, Orlando and Tokyo at the same time at one point.

lol I have no clue I'll have to watch Martins Ultimate tribute and see what that says.

Alls I know is it was great to see MSEP again but I'm ready for Spectro to return!
