Return car first or drop family at port first?

Okay, it seems like "drop off" is the concensus here. What time do you do the drop off? And where do you drop off?

We took the Radisson shuttle for our cruise last May and were dropped off by the shuttle (around 10:15am) in the lot across the street from the terminal. Is this the same drop off point for everyone or just the shuttles/taxis?

Thanks

Do they let you walk across the stree and stand outside the terminal before it opens?

We needed to stay with our luggage until a porter came, tagged everything and loaded it on a cart, then we could walk over to the terminal. By that time, the terminal was open.

If you get you luggage picked up earlier, I would imagine you'd be free to walk over, but I don't know for sure.

...and used Budget. Overall, it was well done. Greg dropped us off at the port and took the car to the rental office. He was back at the port within 30 minutes. The line had been sparse, so I checked myself and the childen in and we went on up to the buffet and waited for Greg. (We bought a set of the two way radios and they worked wonderfully the whole cruise.) Greg let me know when he was in the shuttle and checking in; I told him where to find us on deck 9.

When we disembarked, it could not have gone more smoothly. We exited the ship, went through customs, and found ourselves going down the escalator to the luggage claim all within 5 minutes. (Get your camera ready to go down the escalator; the sight of all that luggage is amazing.) The porter loaded our luggage and led us out to the shuttle pick-up site. Greg called Budget on his cell phone to let them know there were customers ready, and the shuttle arrived 5 minutes later. It really went smoothly and efficiently. I've read plenty of horror stories, but ours happened to be good.

Hope this helps.

Brenda
