Retaining water in the morning

Okay, so today is my weigh in day. The scale shows 2 lbs lost, but I can't get my rings off and can feel water retention in my feet too. Yesterday when I got up I was retaining too and as the day went on I was able to take my rings off easily. Why would I be retaining water overnight? I have always thought it was best to weigh in the morning because then there is no food weight, etc. But I guess I will weigh again and see what is going on later.

This is my first week back on track and psychologically I need to maximize the weight loss!
 
I always hold water overnight, as well. I weigh in after Ive had my coffee and before breakfast. Usually the water has found its way out of my system by then. Try waiting a while. :)

I retain fluid in the morning, too. I also retain fluid all day long, but it's worse in the morning.

It could be that you are eating salt with your evening meal. It may also be that your hormone levels are higher in the am than later in the day.

Are you typeII diabetic by any chance?
