My dd10 wants a Webkinz. I searched everywhere and finally stopped wasting time and gas and won 2 on ebay. I have no idea what the going retail price is for them however. I would like to know so I can compare to what I paid on ebay. If you purchased one how much was it not including tax?
TIA

Webkinz are pretty readily available at specialty retailers like MasterMind for $12.95 plus tax.

We get them at scholars choice I don't think we have ever paid more than 10.99 for our kids webkins.

I had no troubles finding out who carries them the problem is every single store is out of stock. After the sixth store I gave up! I paid a little more than retail thank goodness but was able to get ones she will really like!

As long as you got ones she is going to really like the cost within reason should be secondary hell I paid 300 bucks for a VHS copy of Beauty and the Beast back in 1999 for my wife LOL.

Chapters/indigo.ca sells a ton of them for 12.99 each.
they sell lots of toys online now.

That was one of the first places I checked as I try to buy online alot. When I checked about a week ago their was about 30 on their site but only 2 of the approx 30 a showing were available and not the ones she wanted. I do remember reading that they were re-ordering. When I talked to the lady at the local Hallmark store she said they are selling so quickly in Calgary Ganz cannot even provide a new shipment date for them as they cannot keep up with demand.........first my kids loved club penguin...now this...sheesh lol

usually they are $12.95, lilkinz are $10.99. I too, was told it will be late summer before they can replenish stocks. The store i went to this week, was the only local store that had received any and they jacked the price to...$14.99. Nopt much but still, supply & demand issue.

My kids have been obsessed since last June. We must own 14 of them between the three of them. I've paid anywhere from $15.95 to $8.95. Our local hardware store was selling them off cheap around September to make more room for xmas decorations. I wish I had bought them all and sold them on ebay! Would have put more money in the disney piggy bank.

They generally run 14-16 dollars each. Sometimes you can hit a sale where they are buy one get one. The trick is that the newest ones are the hardest to find. The only thing about ebay would just being careful that the code on the tag works. Maybe your child isn't in to that part of it but for my kids that is the BIGGEST part of it and playing with the webkinz online. All 3 of my kids do this (5, 8 and 10yr old). We have about 30 between all 3. They are somewhat obsessed with them and save all their allowance and birthday money etc. I have to say, they are also my bribing tool..i.e. increasing grades on report cards, passing swimming lessons etc. But I am tired of tripping all over them all over the house!:dance3:

Also...forgot to mention. If there is one you really want. Sometimes you can find a store (here it's the Green Earth store) who know ahead of time what is coming in and at this store, she will let me buy the one I want ahead of time and she puts it away for me. Don't know if other stores will do this but I have done this a couple of times for the hard to get ones.

We paid $13.99 for most of them. 17 of these creatures now reside in my home.:rolleyes1 Whoever came up with the idea for those was a genius.

I believe Webkins are a Gund product (Canadian company?)

We don't seem to have much trouble here in N.S. getting them. I know our hospital gift shop carries them here in Halifax along with most of the independant country themed craft/decor stores. Hallmark(sp?) stores, pharmasave, lawtons pharmacy, and other misc. type stores carry them in the malls.

There everywhere!:scared1: Including downtown disney now. We drove all the way to Disney for march break and all my son really wanted was something we could have bought right at the local mall!:confused3

Here they retail for 9.99 'lilkinz and 12.99 for webkinz.

We have 35+ in the house now, divided up between my 3 kids. At least they don't take batteries, they have no breakable or parts to loose, they make no noise and are not gross or slimy, not a bad toy in the big picture.::yes::

Here webkinz run between 11-17 dollars. Hallmark stores have been the most expensive. Yes..Ganz is Canadian with there head office in Woodbridge Ontario. The also have an office in Cheektowaga New York. My darling DD is obsessed with them. We have 63 of them all over her room. Her Dad travels alot and we have gotten alot of them from his travels. Her Grandma has also supplied a fare number.:rotfl:

Webkinzs are actually by Ganz not Gund ( acorrding to the tag in front of me;)
Not sure if that is the same company or not.
The website is www.ganz.com

Thanks for the correction. With so many you would think I could remember the company that makes them off the top of my head!!!:thumbsup2

Just FYI, since this is the DIS boards - they actually sell them here at WDW (I'm at OKW until Friday) - saw them in the World of Disney Store for $15, and at a gift shop in AK.

They are made by Ganz, they have a manufacturing plant in Tonawonda near Buffalo (original plant) and one in Toronto. Here in Canada they range from $9-15 Cdn. But we purchased a rare one (pegasus) on ebay for our DD for Christmas for $40. The price all depends on if it is retired or not and how long it has been out. They only make so many of each kind.

We now have 48 of them in our house between 2 kids. I cringe when I think of the money my kids blow on them but hey it is there money and they actually plan with them, not like the hundreds of dollars spent on toys not touched.
