This is just a breakdown of everything we went through for our first IVF. I hope this is helpful to anyone else that is about to go through it.
January 1st- Consultation, started birth control right away because my cycle
was just at the right time.
February 1st- Started my daily Lupron injections.
Februray 4th- Stopped birth control pills.
February 13- Our first appointment for ultrasound and bloodwork. Also
adding the Bravelle injection. So that is 2 daily injections.
February 17- Next ultrasound appointment and bloodwork.
February 20- The last appointment for ultrasound of ovaries and bloodwork.
February 21- HCG injection had to be at the exact day and time they give
you.
February 23- My egg retrieval surgery. It only took about 30 minutes. They
got 9 eggs. Stared my prednisone pills. A steroid.
February 24- 8 eggs fertilized.
February 25- 7 divided. Started my proesterone and oil injections.
February 26- Egg transfer day. The Dr. reccomended putting 3 eggs back in.
March 6th- Found out we had 2 eggs that can be frozen.
March 9th- 2 week wait is over and go in for the pregnancy blood test. 3
hours later we get a Big Fat Positive
March 27- Went in for our ultrasound to see how many. There was 1 and
we even saw a heartbeat.
I wanted to wait until I knew how many before I posted anything so I can tell you about the whole process. The only complication I had was getting OHSS(Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome) I have been one bedrest pretty much since the Transfer. I put on 22 pounds of fluid just on my tummy. It was really uncomfortable and hard to deal with. It lasted about 2 weeks and everything went down and I am back to normal and ready to enjoy this pregnacy. I still can't believe I'm pregnant. It takes some getting used to. I am just so thankful to my Dr. and this whole amazing procedure. And thankful to all of your thoughts and prayers. If anyone has any questions I will be happy to answer them. I will keep you updated as I go along. Now here's to a healthy pregnancy and birth. Thank You.
