I've been feeling a bit under the weather lately and have just finished having two weeks off work. (Go back on Monday, boo hoo.) I had an "everything" blood test last Monday and the results are back. GP wants to see me on Tuesday. Not a nice thought. My blood pressure was up a little bit - for me, as I usually have low blood pressure. So perhaps the result has something to do with cholesterol, but there again it could be thyroid (which the GP particularly wanted checking), iron (I have B12 injections), or something else entirely. It's the not knowing, isn't it!

Poor you :( On the positive side, at least once you know what the problem is you'll be able to begin treatment to put it right. I imagine just the waiting must be enough to put your blood pressure off kilter!

Glad to hear you're feeling well enough to return to work next week :)

........ hope all goes well for you on Tuesday - hugs and pixie dust coming your way :)

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Let us know how you get on. Carolyn

Really feeling for you - I have 'white coat phobia' - which means even thinking about visiting the Docs makes my BP raise through the roof. Waiting for a date for a trip to the hospital for me and I'm dreading it:(

At least all the things you mention it might be are very easily treated - fingers crossed for the least bothersome one for you:D

Oh i do hope everything is ok for you...your right its the not knowing, ive just had a smear, and the results will take 10weeks,i cant help but worry over it,its terrible...

Loads of PD,and Hugs
Beth xx

Good luck! Hope the results come back good :D

Penny :D

....... thought I'd just check in with you to see how your appointment went - hope all is well.

. . . me too, I've just checked in to see what the news is.

Hi folks, sorry I haven't been around much.

Well, everything is OK. My cholesterol is higher than GP would like - 7.6 - but the good news is that, taking into account my lower than average blood pressure, my chances of dying with heart disease within the next ten years is only 10%! That's charts for you.

Dieting will be difficult because I don't eat dairy produce (including cheese and eggs) and not much red meat. But GP suggested I try anyway and I am supposed to have another test in three months.

So thank you all for your concern and support. It was really a great help as I was actually more worried than I thought. It's funny how I only realise these things when the crisis is over!

Thanks again. :D

Glad to hear you are okay :D - hope you can get your cholesterol level down.

That's good news!

I hope you continue to improve :)

Phew - that's a relief then.

Cholestrol is a curious thing - it's always associated with an 'unhealthy' diet, but if you looked at DH and myself, you would assume my cholestrol level would be off the richter scale (overweight, you see), whereas DH is not, very sporty etc. etc. Mine is fine, his is in the very high level.

Mind you, it was sufficient to frighten the pants off him when he first found out and all his grazing, all day long, stopped with crisps, nuts, cakes, chocolate etc. . . for about six months:o

Glad the news was good :D
