There were two of us who got there a little after 8. Praire Gekko brought along green glow sticks, which we put on the table where they could easily be seen. We left about 10:00. Also it is very loud and just about impossible to hold a conversation.

Thats not good I hope they are just planning on attending the other ones .I know it's easy here on the DIS to have the courage to say your going to attend but to do it is another story for some .

I hope that's not the Case good luck to all.

I'm sorry, CF. Maybe the next one will be better. For me, it would be a matter of nerves. I'm so shy, and it's so much easier to talk online than in person. I thought Disneyfan63 (tiggerpal on dismates) was going. I wonder what happened?

Sorry the meet didn't go well. I do like the idea of the glow sticks, though...heading to the dollar store to stock up on some for June...

Sorry to hear CF and PG that the meet didn't go as planned. The glow sticks were a great idea PG.

Who/what/where is "JR"?

Jellyrolls is a dueling piano bar at the boardwalk. It's a must for every trip for me! I'm actually heading down to WDW just so I can go to JR for my birthday party on Memorial Day Weekend!

2 friends are flying in with me and 2 friends live close by and are JR freaks too!

I can so relate to how you feel right now.......I was supposed to meet a solo diser at EPCOT tomorrow, called his cell to make sure it was still on and low and behold he forgot all about it and wondered who I was........now don't get me wrong, I will be going anyways, but sometimes when I see 1st time soloers I try to reach out and ask them if they would like company for a day, a meal or a few hours. I have met a couple already and things went pretty well, but this blow off has me quite PO'd right now! You know you try and put things together and people say they will be there and we all know sometimes plans change but 2 people showing!! I would be there thanking you guys for doing a meet and taking time to plan it.

I had never promised I was going to make it... and I didn't make it, sorry.
I actually have 2 reasons:
- hotel shuttle schedule wasn't really accomodating. I could have come directly from the park and gotten a taxi to get back to my hotel later at night (although that would have costed a lot of money) It would also have meant that I would have come in my sweaty park clothes, and not nicely fresh showered and dressed for an evening out. I would also mean I would have my backpack + purchases with me, not a good idea either for a night out.
- it was my last day, I had to pack to leave early the next morning, and after 6 days of Disney, I was feeling like a zombie. I don't think I would have been pleasant company.

I'm sorry the meet wasn't a success. If it can help to make you feel better, one of the "dates" I had for during my visit at WDW didn't go on either, so... I know how you feel.

Make sure to plan another for next time. I have met MANY DIS'ers over the years there, sometimes the meets work out great, other times not. Overall though, a great experience.

Who will be there 5/23-5/30??? :cool1:

Sorry CF and PG.

We spent all day at MK and by the time we got back to our rooms we were exhausted. Since we were leaving early the next day (8:30 a.m.) we still had to pack. Turned out our flight was delayed because the plane had a flat tire so we had to wait for it to be replaced. Maybe I'll meet some of the folks at the DISMeet in July in Allentown, PA.

Maybe next time there could be a lunch meeting or an icecream-in-the-afternoon meeting? I don't think that many people who spent all day in the parks are up for an evening out. And it also avoids some transportation troubles. The mousepadders meet every Sunday at noon at the hub at DL... I think a meeting like that is easier to go to.

Just an idea though...
