I have never heard of this resturant- don't know if I even spellled it right. Where is it and what type of food do they have?

You spelled it right! It is at Kidani Village.

The food is African themed and really good. The restaurant overlooks the savanna and has some great views. Worth going to.

It's a lot of fun. Last time we ate there about 6 large animals decided to camp out on the savannah next to our table with a picture window, about 10 feet from us!

The food is very good; they call it African with an Indian flavoring, but I'd reverse the terms. Seems more Indian to us (which we love) with some theming to make it African to fit the restaurant location. The chef there came over from the Wave in the Contemporary; he didn't have extensive experience with that kind of food, but did his homework and came up with a nice menu. Try the sustainable fish...

It serves classic Indian food. Much of it is very good, though heavy on ghee (clarified melted butter), as with most Indian cuisine. Disney says it is African, but it's not, it's Indian. It's one of the few Disney restaurants left that actually offers something of a unique food experience (another is Kouzzina). Sanaa has a particularly nice wine list for a one-table service credit restaurant. It also has a nice ambience, especially later after the big loud families have cleared out.

I loved Sanaa, and definitely plan to return on my next trip. Unfortunately, since we went after dark and were sat in the middle of the restaurant, we did not see any animals. But the decor inside is very unique and absolutely beautiful.

I'm vegetarian and LOVE Indian food, so I was so excited to try this place out. I went with my mom who would NEVER try it...and we both adored our meals. I got samosas as an app and a combo type meal where I chose a curry w/ vegetables and a cauliflower dish with tomatoes and mint. My mom got a tomato soup as her app and was able to get a steak as her entree. We shared a dessert sampler that was great! I cannot rave about this place enough - everything was delicious and tasted fresh. I'm glad that they have one American entree on the menu for more conservative palates - otherwise I may not have visited. This place is great! :thumbsup2

Think of it as an African restaurant with Indian food and you'll be fine. It is one of the few Disney restaurants that are still doing fun things with their food, maybe because they are new and still trying to find their market.

My family and I really enjoyed our meal there this past May. The only pizza at WDW that my 3yo would eat was the one here, made with fresh ingredients and using the naan bread dough. I only know this because I talked with the chef to discover the secret to getting my picky kid to eat.:)

You should not be apprehensive of the ethnic food presented, it is a delicious adventure from what I've been told. I am looking forward to it from what I've seen and heard. I have yet to hear a negative about Sanaa.

We LOVED Sanaa. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Our family LOVED Sanaa. They sung me an African Happy Birthday song. The animals hung out by the windows when we had dinner. It was amazing. I chose a vegetarian dish even though I'm not one (anymore) and everyone ordered something different and we all tried everyone else's dishes. We asked the chef to "spice" up our dishes because we like spicy foods and boy, it was great. Also, the Naan bread with the spreads were delicious! Man, I wish I was having dinner there tonight.... :rotfl:

Can't say that we've eaten there but it was the very first reservation I made for our upcoming trip in April! I've heard nothing but wonderful things about it if that helps. We love trying new restaurants, especially ethnic food. :thumbsup2

I really wasn't sure if I would like Sanaa. My husband made the ADR when he planned our surprise trip to AKL in July. I looked at the menu several times prior to our trip trying to find something that appealed to me. I couldn't find anything that I really wanted to eat. I am SOOOOO glad that we ate at Sanaa. I had the shrimp with green curry sauce and the beef short ribs. Both selections were wonderful. We also had the bread service with cucumber raita, coriander chutney, and roasted red bell pepper hummus. The accompaniments were very good.

We liked the meal so much that we ordered room service the following night for dinner (the in-room dining menu was very similar to the menu at Sanaa).

Enjoy your meal!
