Restroom break while in line for attraction

Ok so in the past we never get in a line longer than a 30 minute wait because our son just can't hold his bladder that long. (we stay very hydrated in Disney so lots of water drinking leads to lots of potty breaks). Now that there are no fast passes and lines are creeping way up there, I am curious what are options for a potty break once you are in line?

I will add we always take a restroom trip before getting in a line that has a wait and avoid drinking in line, but sometimes he still has to go before we get on.

This feels like such a stupid question but we are headed back next month and I am sitting here worried about what to do if all the lines are over 30 minutes. Any other parents relate?

There are really no options once you are on line. It is frowned upon to have one member of your party hold your place while another leaves to take child to the bathroom. People do it though.

We have a rule at WDW. When one person goes- everyone goes. Also, we try not to guzzle drinks, but to sip all day long. Helps to not have to go so bad so suddenly.

Under the current circumstances, I don't see how someone taking a kid for a bathroom break is any big deal. If you're in a 60 minute queue, a member of a party peeling off for 10 minutes doesn't really affect anyone else.

It may depend where you are in the queue -- still outside, easy enough to step away and re-join. Once the queue moves indoors, CMs may or may not allow someone to re-join a party further up in line because it would mean squeezing past others in the queue. With social-distancing in queues, some folks may not be at all understanding of someone pushing through "their space" regardless of the reason. I would encourage everyone to use the restroom before joining the queue and avoid drinking in line. Then hope for the best, but expect if you have to leave a queue that you may not be able to rejoin the rest of your party until after they ride.

Your point is well taken lanejudy. I wasn't thinking about having to skooch in between parties in the queue to rejoin their group. I think if you're in the queue outdoors it's probably ok, but at the point where you'd be crowding in front of people indoors that's not a good idea.
