Restricted rehire question

Hi everyone!
I was accepted into the FA 2014 program, however I self-terminated after a month for personal reasons. When I talked to my manager about it, she said I would never be able to work for the Disney company again.
I called recruiting before the Spring 2016 applications went live last year and the lady told me I had to have a current application put in in order to know my status (which I'm assuming is RR), but she also said that if it was a definite no, I would get the NLIC email right away. So, when I applied, I never called back because I wasn't thinking about it, and I got to the phone interview, was pended withhin 24 hours, and was eventually denied. There was never any mention of my previous work history with Disney during the interview.

I'm in the same situation now, having applied for fall 2016. I have my interview on Tuesday.

I keep reading that if you're a restricted rehire, you're supposed to get paperwork to fill out, which I never have. I've also heard that within 6 months the status goes away, which doesn't seem to be the case.

Should I call on Monday and see what they say since I've actually got a live application this time or just wait it out and whatever happens happens?

Getting a pending email within 24 hours of the phone interview and then getting NLIC'd a few to several weeks later sounds like the common pattern for a restricted rehire status. It's exactly what happened to me the four times I applied for the college program, and it's been the same for several people I know.

Here's what I had to do to get my RR status lifted before I could get the job I have now: I had to work another job for more than 6 months after leaving the company, and then I had to take pay stubs that proved that I did that to Casting in person. I was never offered a chance to do this during any of my CP applications - I applied for a PT job, got an in-person interview, and took my documentation to that interview. My recruiter lifted the status, told me it would still remain on my record and that if I left the company again I'd be a "no rehire," and then put me into the pool for a second interview for the role I wanted.

If you've had six months of other job experience since you left your last program, and you can prove it, I would bring it up in the interview. Tell them that you think you're a restricted rehire and ask if you can fax or email them that information. Nobody I know has had any luck doing this, but it can't hurt to ask.

Thanks for the reply and information! Do you know if there's a reason they have us go all the way through the process to just be rejected? Wouldn't it just be easier to reject after we apply if there's still stuff we need to do to even be considered? I just want some sort of hope lol

Restricted rehires can absolutely still be rehired, it just means they look more closely at your application. There is a worse position and thats a No Rehire, those people under no circumstance can or will be hired again by the company.
There are usually only a small handful of RR's (restricted rehires) pulled in again for a semester like i've seen two one semester.
The best thing you can do is to actually call and find out your rehire status. The status itself should be reset after 6 months of non-actvitiy, meaning 6 months you didn't not try to apply again. That doesn't mean your previous RR doesn't show up, but it should increase your odds again. Otherwise unfortunately there are a lot of people who do get rejected, it is possible that a CP may not be in your future.
Have you considered just applying for a regular job at the end of your degree?

When I did my little exit interview after self-terming in 2011 for serious medical reasons, my manager Zane said that they would miss me because I was one of their best CPs and to consider reapplying after at least 6 months when I had gotten my health issues resolved. Should I just assume that they processed my self-term as a 6mo restricted rehire? Or is there a number I can call now that I am reapplying to make sure?

What's the number you called for this? My interviewer gave me the number to call recruiting, but all it said was an auto message saying to email them and nobody has emailed me back even though I got the "we'll email you in 3-5 days, blah blah"
And when I call the general casting number I don't know how to maneuver my way around the options lol.

I found a thing online where I use the menu until I speak to an actual person and I asked her to be connected to the cast records. She asked if I was wanting to find out my status and I said yes. She asked if I remember my perner I said no so she looked me up by name, birthday, and location of workplace. She was very nice!

I called 407-828-1000
and I used the menu options of 2-1-7-0

I just got off the phone (super duper short conversation haha) and he said I had to wait 6 months from when I left and since it has been I should be good to go and that there would have to be paperwork done either way? I guess he meant either whether I was restricted or not? I dunno. We shall see.

Yeah, my lady said it would only need to be filled out if I was a no rehire status... so, I guess if I do get a phone interview I will mention it on the phone.

Yes, I am pending. Most likely will not get accepted, but at least I tried! I have heard being a RR it is easier to get part time than it is to get into the CP.

People have provided you with a lot of good informaiton. It is definitely possible. One of my best freinds is a coordinator and he self termed during a summer advantage program, came back, did two more programs then went full time. It can happen. Just have to prove your dedication to the company

This makes me nervous..I don't actually plan to go back to Disney but I am a RR and I hate the idea of not having the option. Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you this time.

I was restricted rehire after my college program because I left about a month and a half early. I was also told that I was basically burning all bridges with all aspects of the company. Flash forward a year and a half and I received 5 PI offers. Restricted rehire should go away after 6 months, without having to fill out any paperwork.
