Restricted Rehire question

I worked during the spring as a CM. Enjoyed it immensely. Due to some poor decision making on my part (two reprimands very early on due to call-ins...I hadn't realized how much I'd love my job quite yet) and some illness issues (with the stricter call-sick CP rules) later on, I wound up with a restricted rehire.

I applied for the Spring Advantage program this year, and was rejected (turns out it was a bad interview). I expressed a willingness to perform any role other than QSFB, with the strongest interest marked for my old line of business. I do know from previous conversations I do have a restricted rehire status. I'm not sure exactly when it falls off, just that I have one.

One of my managers has said quite clearly that they'd love to have me back; this was noted when I applied for this program. And I'm mostly (~75%) sure that a *second* of my former managers would sign off on it if I spoke with him. The health issues have subsided, and the termination was a real wake-up call regarding the lackadaisical attitude that got me the *first two* reprimands.

I'm just trying to get some idea of whether it'd be worth my time to apply for the Fall 2012 program, or whether I can expect to be in the proverbial "doghouse" with the Company for some time. Any help from you guys is greatly appreciated.

Was it just this last spring that this all happened? I believe that they won't even consider lifting the restricted rehire if you haven't had a steady job somewhere else for at least 6 months. I believe they use this to show that you are serious about working for Disney again and that you won't have the same problems as before. Do you have another job?

I was hired by a local photo studio here approximately a week or so after returning from Disney. FWIW, was terminated by Disney at the end of May; held the job here since the beginning of June.

That's good then! I would say give it a go for fall :) by then it'll definitely be over 6 months of continuous employment. I wish you luck and hope you get to go back! I know I want to..just gotta completely convince the husband to do it with me :rotfl:

It's worth applying as soon as you've been employed for 6 months or more. I have restricted rehire and I've applied twice to have it lifted and it hasn't happened yet. Did you do the rehire paperwork when you most recently applied to the CP? I believe you can only apply to have your status lifted once per 6 months. I've been told management can have your status lifted, but have no idea if thats actually true.

No, I wasn't asked to fill out any sort of rehire paperwork. Hindsight 20/20, had a bad interview.

It's probably good then that you didn't do any paperwork yet, that way there's no waiting period. Ive only applied through regular part-time/full-time positions, I have no idea if its easier or more difficult to have your status lifted through the CP. I do remember being on the CP with someone who had been termed from their first CP for points and then was able to return. So its possible.
