Restricted Rehire – Summer Alumni

I was a member of the Disney college program from August 2009 to May 2010. I recently applied to become a campus rep and I was told that I had a “restricted” rehire status. I was unaware that I had this, and I am unsure why I have it. I was told by the recruiter that it was unusual for me to have that status without any notification from my managers. I worked at Cosmic Rays and I have been trying to get in contact with a manger at that location for months with no luck. I even applied to go seasonal at Cosmic Rays, but never heard anything from the managers about it. I REALLY want to go back and do the summer alumni program for 2011, but I am unsure about what will happen since my status is “restricted” rehire. I remember that I did have two reprimands on my record card when I left in May. By the time the summer alumni program STARTS in May it will be 1 complete year from the time I left. What should I be expecting when I interview for summer alumni and what are my chances of getting into the program? I really want to go back I loved it!

If you have reprimands than you won't be rehired or placed on rehired restriction for up to a year or more I'm guessing. If you have a certain amount, I'm not sure how many but you would be placed on a no-hire status. If you got the reprimands while you were working at Cosmic Rays, that's probably why your manager won't respond to your requests for seasonal. So sadly, it looks like the choices you made while down there are now causing you to not get seasonal status or campus rep...sorry for the luck!

I have heard of people getting terminated (by the company and self terming) from the program and then accepted again to participate in another one. So I doubt that getting 2 reprimands and not terminated will not allow me to participate again. Also, if this was true wouldn’t I be on a “no-rehire” status instead of restricted? Restricted means that I can be rehired again under certain circumstances. And by the time the summer alumni program STARTS it will be 1 complete year from the time I left. Will that make a difference since the time that I will interview is still within the 1 year period?
 
Reprimands aren't going to keep you from being rehired... for instance in my first program.... i got 12 attendance points... and 2 attendance reprimands... also i was custodial... so i never saw my managers ..... however i did my job well when i was at work hahaha... anyway... i got accepted with no problems at all for the next summer program... i even found out in my interview for the summer program that i was actually a seasonal cast member and i didnt even know it...

I think the restricted rehire thing is just all up to the manager... because i def did a poor job my first go around and they hired me back with open arms... infact i was one of the first people selected for last years summer program... only took 9 days to get my invite after the interview...

On the other hand... my friends from the first program got placed on restricted rehire... they never missed a day their first program.. had zero points... zero reprimands in any category and left the program with awesome reviews and on good terms....

sooooooo in other words i have no idea how they do this stuff...
