Hi All.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a map or list or something that I could use to find out what restaurants are in the Splendid China area?

Much thanks in advance!

There are quite a few restaraunts on that part of US-192. We go to Outback which is in the shopping center that is at the corner of 192 and the road to Splendid China (which is closed by the way)
There are also Mc'D's, BK, Subway, Wendy's, KFC, etc, all the fast food ones and the moderate type like Outbacks.
There is the all you can eat place and right now I can't remember the name of it but it starts with an A. It is in the Holiday Inn. I never tried it but my son said it was good, all you can eat lobster for $24.
I don't know of any maps that show the restaraunts but when you get down there you can pick up little coupon books that will give you some money back from dinners, usually $2-3.
Wish I could help more, but I bet someone else will chime in too. Peggie

Hi Peggie! I usually do not read this board and just happened on this thread.
There are tons of restaurants along 192.
Just as an addition though:
Holiday Inn. I never tried it but my son said it was good, all you can eat lobster for $24.
I had friends who ate there just a few months ago on someone's suggetsion. :crazy2:
So, like most restaurants it depends on the person and if you hit it right, I think.
The few times we have eaten along 192 we stayed with the chains. Which is probably why we do not eat around there. :rotfl:

Is Splendid China still open? I thought I saw somewhere that it had closed. It is not listed in my AAA Fl. tour book either. My DH was heartbroken.

Nope, Splendid China closed quite some time ago. They have even auctioned off all the props from there.

R U kidding - every thing is near splendid china - that is PRIME location (IMHO)!!! Yeah traffic is heavy - but so what - U R on vacation!!! :goodvibes I love it over there. Everything is near - The only thing I wish was closer was a walmart/kmart/target - a 24 hour one would be perfect. Although one is like 10 miles away -Target, It should be open by now - during the summer months it could take 20-25 minutes because of the heavy traffic. So whatever you are feeling (chinese - nasty in the south, Indian - we loved, american - plentiful, buffets - Golden Corral - worth the stop!!!, Mexican - go to Don Pablos off I-Drive, or Chevy's on 194 - some of the best Mexican food I've had in the States, Kissimmee Steak Co - better than the Outback in the area - and thats something because I love outback!!! Pacino's Italian Ristorante - horrible - if it is still open it should be closed down!!! Romano's Macaroni Grill - we loved it - more than I wanted to spend - my family of 3 spent $71!! I spent $89 at Outback - way more than I wanted to spend - DH is/was a Vegetarian - ordering lots of sides really added up!!! I'm so glad he's eating a little meat now!!

Here is a Web site that list many of the restaurants in the area - any thing on Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy (194) it not too far - but be mindful that it runs long - maybe 10-15 miles of restaurants, stores, etc. If memory serves me right, Spendid China is on the West end off of Irlo Branson (or 194) http://www.kissimmeerestaurants.com/food_type/multi1.html
