We're going to Universal for the first time in July and wondering about what restaurants to dine at. We will be staying at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Any suggestions? (Sit-down restaurants or counter-service)

Also, how far in advance do I need to make a reservation for Emeril's?

Thanks!
Beth

If you are staying at the HRH, The Kitchen can't be beat! We liked it so much the first time, we will be taking friends to dine with us there on our next trip.

At Emerils, you can make ressies 6 months in advance, and if you want a prime time weekend ressie, the sooner the better!

Make ressies online (for either Emeril's or Tchoup Chop) at

http://www.emerils.com/restaurants/on-line_reservations.htm

For counter service, we liked Capt. Quint's at USF.

HTH!

We much preferred Tchoup Tchoup to Emerils......... guess since we are from LA, it just isn't the same away from home!!! We also LOVED Mythos, you've got to try it!!!!

Tchoup Tchoup is a definite must in Universal nice sit down at Lombards & Finnegans:jester:

Tchoup Chop has great food and service, is a tad cheaper than Emeril's, but is also a beautiful place.

The sit down place at HRH is really nice for breakfast (It was called Sunset Grill when we were there a couple years ago)

Mythos is an absolute MUST!!

For counter service, we liked the Monsters Cafe at Universal Studios.

And go to the Velvet Bar in HRH for a late night cocktail.
Very nice!

We were also at the HRH couple of years ago. Agree.....breakfasts very nice and were a good start to the day. We enjoyed eating at the Hard Rock Cafe and although it was very busy, with the priority seating, we just had to show our room key and were seated in less then 5-10 mins max. Also enjoyed Finnegans and Lombards for lunch, also at Jurassic Park - the Burger place very good - lots of lovely relish and salad toppings to choose from. Great reviews for Mythos and Tchoup chop and these are on our list next time.

Another vote for Mythos in IOA--my all time favorite.
We also really enjoyed Lombard's Landing in US and Latin Quarter in City Walk.
