hi

Will be visiting but no car

What are your favourite restaurants outside of the parks

Heard there us Cheesecake Factory

Any thoughts :)

Love Chersecake Factory! Next to that is a Bubba Gumps, we love that one too. If you're looking for bang for your buck Earl of Sandwich in DtD. If you want to eat someplace but your hotel is too far away to walk order an Uber!

Cheesecake Factory, Bubba Gump and McCormick & Schmick's Grille are all next to each at the W Katella Avenue end of Anaheim Garden Walk. The ART route 8, 15, 50, 83 stops right outside.

Thank you, know cheesecake and earl, will look up the others

Any others recommendations via short taxi ride :)

I ate at both Cheesecake Factory and bubba Gumps in February...they are right next to each other, and an easy walk to the park, and we're both great

If you take the #1 (I think? Or it might be #2) it stops just across one street from Outback, Joe's Crab Shack, Buca Di Beppo, Red Robin, CoCo's Bakery and a few other nearby places. Cab ride would be about 5 minutes from DL, it's a straight shot.

I also enjoyed Mimi's and Pizza Press, across the street from DL.

I really like Mimi's. It is slow but it has a good variety on the menu. Part of its charm for me is remembering it as the old HoJo restaurant. Did I mention slow? I think it also has good value compared to the in the park restaurants.

Cheesecake Factory is awful. Every year it makes the list of the most unhealthy restaurants in America.

Bubba Gump and the equally bad other chain restaurants aren't any better.

Catch the ART Bus to The Anaheim Packing House (upscale food court with many choices), or take an Uber to the Orange Circle area for a half dozen great local spots.

Try The Catch and JT Schmidts by Angel Stadium, look at Marri's Italian Restaurant Roscoe's House of Chicken & Waffles.

All our favorite places are in DTD. Do a little research on the better establishments at the parks and you'll find many great choices.
Have to agree with GoBears, nothing at GW is particularly good. Cheesecake factory is "OK" but hideously unhealthy and Bubba Gumps is just bad (Shrimp isn't supposed to have the consistency of chicken and I quit eating off the table when I was 3) :P.

Yeah, Cheesecake Factory and Bubba Gumps are truely awful. I would also add Rainforest Cafe to that list as well. Bubba Gumps and Rainforest Cafe are both owned by Tillman Fertitta, a Houston restaurant tycoon. It's hard for me to avoid all of his restaurants as they seem to be on every corner of my neck of the woods.

Little ones will like Rainforest Cafe for its Jungle Cruise like decor but I would skip the food.

Marri's Pizza and Italian on Katella. It's a couple of doors down from the Best Western Stovall's and it's practically an Anaheim institution. Huge portion sizes. You could share a meal. Very economical and it's good food. http://marrispizza.com/ Last October, our family of 4 ate there with tip for about $45 and we even took leftovers back to the room with us.

Marri's is great. Also like Buca di Beppo. We don't have one, so we like it for an arrival night dinner.

Friends don't let friends eat at crappy chain restaurants (Cheesecake, Bubba Gump's, Mimi's, Chili's, Applebees, Olive Garden etc etc)

Roy's Hawaiian at the Grove is delicious. Pizza Press for casual takeout pizza is good. Packing House is good. If you like Mexican, Uber it to Javier's at Crystal Cove. My favorite Mexican.

I would really, really look at the Packing House and the Packing District.

Anything in particular you would recommend there? We are considering checking it out for our arrival night dinner. Do you have to eat there or can you take it elsewhere? We have four kids, including a toddler and a baby, so I am looking for places we can get stuff to-go.

The poutine at The Kroft is amazing. And yes, I'm pretty sure you can take most anything from there to go.
