I was wondering if anyone has experience with going to Sci Fi Drive In, Garden Grill or Biergarten in a wheelchair? Is there a certain area for wheelchairs? I recall reading something about sitting at a regular table at Sci Fi, but I hate to have my niece and nephew miss out on sitting in the cars. Do you know if they have regular tables next to the cars so we might be able to have us sit at the regular table but still be able to be near the rest of the family?
Thanks for any info!:)

Ok, Sci Fi...what I did was wheel my chair over to the table then transferred out to the "car". The "seater" then moved my chair out of the way. They do have the tables that have a car front and back but then you sit like a "normal" table.
At the Biergarten...I transferred but they are long tables with "removable" chairs. So I don't see why you couldn't wheel up to the table.
I've never been to the garden grill so I can't help you there.

Wow I've used alot of "quotes":rotfl: I hope I've helped some though!

We've eaten in all of those restaurants with DD who is not able to transfer out of her wheelchair.
At Biergarten, we sat at one of the tables on the top 'tier'. There is a lowered area close to the stage and there is a raised perimeter of the eating area that allows you to see over the people below. The buffet is on the upper area where we sat.

At Sci Fi, we sat at one of the tables.

Thanks for the info! We are planng a trip with my sister and her family and I'm trying to find some new restaurants. They would like to try Sci Fi and Biergarten and I wanted to be sure we could be seated together without them missing out.

I forgot to ask, do you remember if you could sit in a table and still be near a car? I think this is only way Sci Fi would work for us for a group meal. The boys can't transfer,
Thanks!

Sci fi has cars that have a regular table down the middle. I would think you could stay in your chair in one of these cars. I didn't see anyone do this but I'm guessing you could easily fit a wheelchair in one of these cars.

We just went to Garden Grill. It was wonderful. You shouldn't have a problem with a w/c. The food was wonderful, a huge improvement from 4 years ago.
