restaurants you won't try

:magnify: Here is "My List" of the places I won't try [ ] !

::yes:: Maybe that's why I weigh so much ! :lmao: :happytv: :rotfl2:

I've been to Benny Hannah and a local knock off of that style I still am looking forward to Teppan Edo...what worries me about your statement is I am traveling with my DD10 :littleangel: who is autistic. She is very good but can be hyper at times and I would hate to annoy anyone at my table.... but on the other hand this is MY vacation too and I shouldn't have to be limited in what I do or where I eat because someone might get annoyed so I think I will keep this ressie.

I'm so sorry...I definitely wasn't trying to offend you. Someone (child or adult) who may act up because of Autism or a disability is a different story altogether. I should've re-worded my statement. I think it is more the parents than the kids, when they let their kids act up and don't say or do anything to calm them down. Obviously in a situation like yours, hopefully the people at your table would understand the circumstances, because I know I would. :thumbsup2

Biergarten. Now this one makes me sad because I love all things German. But I'm a vegetarian and it's a buffet and I just don't see the point!

I'm vegetarian, and, if you aren't adverse to buffets in general, there is a lot at Biergarten for a vegetarian, surprisingly. We enjoyed our experience so much last time, that this is one of the places that we are trying on our next trip. The food was good, the selection pleased both veg (me and DDs) and non-veg (DH), and everyone liked the atmosphere.

Here's a menu, but it didn't really give the "whole picture" (I was more impressed with what I saw in person)...

We're sort of the opposite of several people who have posted... we _are_ foodies, we absolutely adore V & A and Bistro de Paris, and we are more than willing to spend a little extra on food if we're going to get creative and delicious meals. We're fairly adventurous eaters, and we much prefer exotic to ordinary.

So our list of won't do's is a little different...

Tony's
Nine Dragons (we're too picky about our Chinese food, and we've read a lot of bad reviews)
Crystal Palace (although if DS or a future child pushed hard enough, we might be persuaded)
Mama Melrose
50's Prime Time Cafe
Cape May

There are probably a few others (like most CS restaurants; we much prefer TS) that I honestly don't even think about because we have a list of favorites that we return to over and over anyway.

I don't have much on my list, because I'm someone who loves to try new things. I think the only place I'm not enthused about trying is the Italian place in MK..I come from a state where were have kick-*** Italian food, so poor Italian food would make me cranky.

Other than that, open to anything else. I'm happy because this trip, I am trying some new places along with our old favorites. Love Yak and Yeti, Coral Reef, Liberty Tree tavern and Crystal Palace..this year we're trying Le Cellier, The Wave, Biergarten, and Tusker House..

Really???:confused3,Ok here will be One:thumbsup2. Me and my DS make It a point to go there every trip!. We have the same every time,me Kung po chicken and my DS the sweet and spour chicken and then we share yummmm. For apptizer we get the hot and sour soup, here Its the best I have had, hands down and I eat alot of it:scared1:. Also we have the cucumber salad it quite good. Ok I do have one complaint there soda has to much syurp In It. But over all Its one of our favorit, but I to have seen alot of bad reviews, thats ok every one has there owen taste.:goodvibes

My sister and I liked it too..I think where many people go wrong with restaurants is that they often don't listen to their server. What I mean by that is if you ask your server what the specialties of the restaurant are, what's popular, often they can tell you. They know what's good. And people that go to a seafood place, get the chicken, and then complain that the chicken stinks, kinda make me do this.:confused3

But, we all have our own preferences. If everyone liked the same thing, then it would be harder than it already is to get ADRs.:lmao:

Boma for dinner -- I don't like spices and such on my food
San Angel -- don't do Mexican food at all
Cinderella's Royal Table -- never did it because we have boys and we've read a lot of negative reviews on the food
Rainforest Cafe -- ate at the ones in Chicago and Las Vegas and found it very overpriced for not very good food
Any of the Signature restaurants -- we are on vacation and DH is NOT dressing up on vacation (we have enough "signature" restaurants at home in Chicago that we can go to on a "date" night

I have to defend V&A just a bit. We went there on our honeymoon trip - even packed out wedding clothes (not a wedding dress and tux - casual wedding). We had won $250 disney bucks on our AAA trip and decided to spend it on items we normally wouldn't have done. V&A was amazing. Someone said bites of food that is not what I remember. We left very full and with an entire Congratulations cake to take back to our (ASM) room. I do agree it is expensive but if you want to celebrate in style V&A is the place to go. We are trying Narcoossee's this year for our fancy meal. LOL

There is nowhere I wouldn't try.

Here are the places to which I won't return:

Coral Reef ~ The atmosphere was lovely, the food was bad
Boma ~ The food was just bad
Cape May Buffet Dinner: The food was mediocre, the selection was minimal

I don't think there is any I would never try, but I wouldn't return to Hollywood Brown Derby or Jiko as they just weren't our thing.

We eat at MOSTLY signature restaurants. No need to dress up, we often go directly from being in the parks. Really. Don't let a dress code stop you from trying some of the best restaurants- Jiko, Artist Point, Cali Grill, Yachtsmen Steakhouse, etc. Yum. Take the kids- good restaurants are NOT just for date night! :goodvibes

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Only place that I would not make a reservation at is San Angel Inn. Not a fan of Mexican food. But if someone I was traveling with wanted to go I would go in a heart beat. I will try almost anything at least once.

T-Rex ummmm... no thanks, and V&A-- no need to spend that much on a meal IMO

Places I have eaten at and will not again: H&V and LTT

I guess I should have said our "once a month night out" and not "date" night. Our kids are 21 and 23 and in college. But we just are not into spending that much time at a restaurant while we were at Disney. We may try Cali Grill at some point, but the menus at Jiko and Artist Point don't really appeal to us. But thanks anyway. :)

V&A and most of the signature meals. We don't really like fancy food, and we don't want to pack dressy clothes.

San Angel Inn, the menu doesn't look that appetizing, and most of it is beef, which I don't eat.

Marrakesh, I'm not a huge fan of Morrocan food.

For me:

San Angel Inn, as we have waaaaay to much Mexican food easily available at home.
Bistro de Paris: very expensive for food that is not my favorite [indeed, some sounds downright .

For a "won't go back" that would be Tony's Town Square.....

Never tried and not really interested

-Tony's - Disney isn't know for good italian food - I grew up in Italy
-1900 park fare - not enough good reviews on the food - characters at restaurants we aren't interested
-Crystal Palace - not a big fan of buffets
-Coral Reef - like seafood but menu really doesn't appeal

Never again for us
Mama Melrose - first time we tried it years ago it was very good - the last two times
Chef Mickey :yuck: on the food
San Angel Inn - bad mexican food - my cousin's wife is mexican and when made right mexican food is very good and I am not talking tex mex here
Bistro de Paris - not impressed - we have some very good French restaurants in our area
Cape May Buffet dinner - wasn't thrilled with the selection or the food

On my 'not gonna do it' list:
Whispering Canyon and '50s PrimeTime

I am way too much of an introvert to enjoy either one. I do like reading about others good experiences, though! :flower3:

This will be a first for us....first time for TS in WDW (did character breakfast at Crystal Palace in DL.
But I can guarantee you we won't be doing V&A--even if it wasn't for the outrageous price...if I can't take my kids I don't go. The fact that I can take my 10 year old but not my 8 year old (who btw is the better behaved of the two :rotfl2:) tells me to forget it.
But I am going through reading your thoughts:goodvibes
