Restaurants with outdoor eating areas?

Being from the desolate freezing cold wilds (or so it has been the last two years :( ) of England, we do love to eat outdoors when we are on vacation if the weather is good. This February was the first time we have really focussed on Disney Dining as we were on the Deluxe Plan, and were surprised by how few outdoor options there appeared to be around the place for table service. We wondered if maybe there were perhaps some places where the outdoor seating wasn't put out until the weather was better? We are going in May 2012, with the Deluxe Plan again, and wondered if there were any outdoor table service places we hadn't noticed. We do understand that this is most likely because most people prefer a respite from the heat, and that we may well be the only mad people in the world who care about this

We love the outdoor seating at Via Napoli and always make a couple of reservations there. We never bother with the Rose and Crown as it is too much like home

Thank you :thumbsup2

Olivia's at OKW
Paradiso 37
Big River Grille
Tony's Town Square - MK
Green Cabin Room - VB

are 5 that pop into my mind

Turf Club at SSR. Nice relaxing meal, out on a big covered but open-air porch, overlooking a golf course. Very pretty and also very convenient to DTD.

Yeah, the lack of outdoor seating is more to do with the heat than the poor weather I think. I love me some sunshine being from the same shores as you but during the hotter months Florida is not just hot but so very humid and the aircon is just too much of a welcome escape from that!

That said, there are a few other places I can think of off the top of my head with outdoor areas though now that I think of it, not many are in the parks themselves.

Parks:-

Tony's in Magic Kingdom has an outdoor area on the porch.
The Brown Derby in Hollywood studios has a decent seating area outside too.
The new(ish) Mexican restaurant in World Showcase - La Hacienda de San Angel

Kringla Bakery which is counterservice has a small, shaded seating area outside which is quite nice (normally I'd not bother mention CS, but I like that little tucked away area), though can be hard to get a seat.

If you're prepared to explore a little outside the parks:-

Turf Club at Saratoga Springs has a decent sized outside area - 15 minute walk from Downtown Disney our you can take the boat (which is a lovely ride to boot!).

Olivia's at Old Key West - again, can take a lovely boat ride from Downtown Disney for this.

Raglan Road, Downtown Disney - Irish pub, yeah, kinda like home but it's better than the Rose & Crown imo so might be worth the effort.

Paradiso 37, Downtown Disney - lovely view across the lake over to Saratoga Springs

Big River Grill at Boardwalk, time it right and you can see a bit of Illuminations fireworks going off. Great place to people watch at any time of day :)

There are also a couple of outdoor ticketed 'dinner shows' that take place outside - Mickey's Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness and Spirit of Aloha at the Polynesian that might be worth considering.

On preview, bah, beaten to some of them already, I type too slow, haha, posting anyhow!

Thanks all!! Yes, I am more than happy to venture outside the parks :) We are staying at the Beach Club next May so there are a lot of different places in easy reach I guess. We stayed at OKW in Feb this year and thanfully the weather was good enough to eat outside at Olivia's 3 times - I have to say that the server thought we were crazy, but she understood with us being English!! For us the temperature was tropical

River Grille - haven't tried that one yet! Nor the Turf Club. Will check those out.

We spent a lot of time at DTD last year when we stayed at POR and got the lovely little boat back and forth. The setting for Paradiso was pretty, and we had drinks and snacks there a couple of times. The other place we enjoyed there outdoors was on the deck of Fultons. answering my own question there!

When we were eating the the GF we noticed some balconies with seating, and wondered of any of these led off from any of the restaurants? :confused3

The new(ish) Mexican restaurant in World Showcase - La Hacienda de San Angel

La Hacienda doesn't have outdoor seating. All the outdoor seating there is for the counter service.
