Restaurants that serve bread with meals, even at lunch

I know this is an odd question, but one of my mother's pet peeves at WDW is that "none of the table service restaurants serve bread with the meal". This occurred at two places in one trip, the Brown Derby and Captian Jack's. Since then, everytime we take her WDW, bread at the table becomes a constant (annoying) topic.

The past two trips, I was able to dodge the issue by planning buffet dinners and Tepan Edo or sticking to counter service. We are FL residents and usually take short trips, so this has been managable. However, our next trip will be for a week in September and it is proving to be more difficult to plan meals. As much as I love my DM, after listening to her complain that she didn't get bread at ____________ restaurant for the better part of a week, I will start contemplating dropping her off at the lost parents booth.

I have a gastric band and I can only eat a small portion of food at a meal. So I don't like to eat at a buffet because the value isn't there (no leftovers!). Mom isn't adventurous regarding dining, so my restaurant choices are limited to American/Seafood/Steaks.

So my question to the wonderful Disboard community is . . . Which TS service restaurants customarily serve a bread basket of some sort with the meal? Knowing this odd detail in advance will make me and DH have a much more magical trip in September.

We were given a baguette at Chefs de France last week. I think we also got bread with lunch at Mama Melrose. Other than that, we didn't eat anywhere at lunchtime that bread would/should have been offered.

Le Cellier. It is bread sticks (soft ones), not regular sliced bread.

We didnt even get bread at MM for dinner! After returning home and seeing so many pics posted of meals at MM with bread...I guess it was an oversight on our server.

I have been served bread baskets at Tutto Italia, Via Napoli (we asked at lunch), Kona Cafe, Mama Melrose, Coral Reef, Tony's... I know there are more.

Garden Grill features bread before the family style meal, can't wait to try it on our next trip. Read reviews that the bread itself was actually the highlight of the meal! :daisy:

Not an odd question to me. I've posted similar questions when traveling with my mother and MIL. ;)

Kona, Portobello, Raglan Road, and Boatwrights serve bread prior to lunch or dinner. Yes, be sure to ask if you don't get it shortly after you are seated.

Has anyone gotten bread at Kona for lunch?? I really want to try it!

It's not regularly served at lunch. You can ask for it and it's possible that your request will be granted. My understanding is that they bake their bread in the morning for the dinner crowd, so it all depends on whether you get a server willing to accommodate you and if there's enough bread available already.

I seem to remember being served bread before lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern, but I could be mixing it up with Les Chefs de France.

I will definitely ask! They serve that with the macadamia butter at Kona? Do they not serve the macadamia butter at Ohana with the bread? I always see mention of it at Kona but not Ohana

We ate at LTT for lunch and were not offered bread. Might have gone nicely with my pot roast...YUM! I do know we were served bread at Le Chefs.

You could try asking for it. :confused3

DM will ask for bread. But regardless of whether she receives it or not, just having to ask for it is a reason to rant to DH and me. Thankfully, she has not complained to a CM about bread.

It's just of those things about her. And oddly enough, it is only at Disney that she gets like this about bread.

Quite a few of the Sigs have bread: Artist's Point, Cali Grill, Jiko, Citricos,
Narcoossee's, and Le Cellier. We also had bread at Chefs (baguette), Tutto's (basket of mixed breads and a bowl of olives), Grand Floridian Cafe (rolls) and Le Cellier (3 kinds of breadsticks).

I don't remember getting bread at Rose & Crown, Flying Fish or Liberty Tree.

There has been a recent change and bread is no longer available during lunch, no matter who you ask :) . Bread is now being prepared after the restaurant closes for lunch so that its hot and fresh for dinner service.

I just read a dining review today that said, if you ask for bread at LTT for lunch, you can get it :thumbsup2

Looking through all of the dining pictures made me hungry, but I found several photos with bread (not necessarily the focus of it). As a PP said, a lot of Signatures offer bread.

Artist's Point - sliced sourdough (maybe?)

Tutto Italia - the baskets were slighly different at lunch and dinner, but I don't know if it's still the same since the remodel.

Le Cellier - the ever popular pretzel breadsticks! The actually bread basket has a couple different types, but we asked for all pretzel bread

There was also bread at Grand Floridian Cafe, but I couldn't find a picture of it. I think[/B] there was bread at Olivia's also.
