Just this minute booked a stay for this weekend. Too late to add dining plan. It's just us 2 girls this time so thinking about trying some offsite places. Have heard there is a 'good' Golden Corral & a 'bad' Golden Corral, but which is which??:confused3 Also heard there is a CiCis pizza close by. Looking for some inexpensive places as this is a very spur of the moment trip.:yay: Kids are all gone for a few days so will be our first adult only trip. We're also planning on doing a lot of the snacks in the parks that we are usually 'too full' for when on the dining plan. Any ideas appreciated. Leaving in about 6 hours. Thanks!!!

There is a CiCi's right outside DownTown Disney near the Comfort Inn. There is also a Chili's, Joe's Crab Hut. Never had Golden Coral-but haven't heard to many good things about it either. If you can find a Sonny's BBQ-that is good and pretty affordable if you like BBQ. Have a great trip.

A new place we discovered during our recent trip is Sweet Tomato.

I signed up on the sit to receive coupons which they send quit often. Got one for buy one get one free so thought what the heck lets try it.

I is a great place! We actually made 2 visits during our trip. They have a huge salad bar 55 feet long, pizza, baked potato bar, make your own sundae, mac and cheese. Check out their web sit.

There is one at the Crossing shopping center which is close to DTD. They are located on the left side way down on the end of the shopping strip.

Thanks. Have heard a few good things about CiCi's there. Love Sonny's but it's so heavy I wouldn't be any good at the parks, lol. We'll probably be ready for a good bkfst by the time we get there and will snack around most of the remainder of the day. Have to get a WDW chili cheese dog at some point too, & tye dye cheesecake at POP. For only 2 1/2 days I'm sure we can find enough to get by on.

Don't want to hijack the thread, but where is the Joe's Crab Hut? We ate at one in Texas and Loved It! Would like to try it when we are down at WDW in November but we haven't traveled off-site so is it easy to find?

Thanks for any help.

We were pleased with the following Golden Corral this past June.

Leave the World and take 192 East. I think that once you cross I-4 the Golden Corral will be on your left within a few minutes.

Our receipt says "#2571 Kissimmee FL."

Sorry, no other info is on our reciept but you could make a few phone calls or search on their website.

We ate at this one twice. We were pleased.

4 dinner buffets were 47.96. 2 soft drinks were 4.58. Tax was 3.68. Total was 56.22 not including tip. The other 2 people in our party had tap water with their meal.

From DTD Marketplace end, follow Hotel Plaza Blvd. to the intersection at the end. Turn left at the light on Apopka-Vineland, go straight through the next light and it's probably 1/2 mile or less up the road on your left. 5 mins from DTD tops.

Thank you for the great directions BradyBz12. We will be going there next November for sure. Maybe even twice .

Head towards Animal Kingdom on Osceola Pkwy west. But take the little bear left instead of going to the AK toll booths and parking lot proper. Then left at the light (AK Lodge was straight). Follow this road (Sherberth Rd., south) down to the next light which is Rte. 192, take a right (west) and immediately take a left through a median break. The Golden Corral mentioned above is slightly to the west. Also a Shoney's restaurant that has a home cooked buffet.

We like Miller's Ale House which is on the corner of Winter Garden Vineland Rd and S Apopka Vineland Rd Winter Garden Vineland Rd is 535 and if you turn right on S Apopka Vineland that road becomes 535. This is close to the Crossroads Shopping Center. It's kind of a TV sports bar but very family friendly. There was a kids birthday party when we were there once. A very wide menu and excellent prices and portions when compared to WDW restaurants. Joe's Crab Shack is just up the street from there.

We also enjoy Flippers pizza in the Crossroads. Good prices and much better pizza than Cici's.

Ale House is a great place. Prices are pretty good, for Orlando and all.

I also agree with you about Flippers. That's some of the best pizza I've had in a while.

Good to know! We stay at FW and always have a car, so heading the back way out to 535/A-V to grab a bite is a quick trip. Haven't tried Ale House before, but it sounds like our kind of place. :thumbsup2
