Restaurants outside the park

I am posting for my SIL:

She is leaving Friday for her first trip to Disney. They are staying outside the park and they were wondering if anyone could tell her what restaurants are good outside the parks??? She wants it to be fun for her 4year old dd.

Also are you allowed to bring in food and drinks to the park?
