Restaurants open Christmas Day in the evening?

Since losing my father last week, my mom and I are actually looking for places to get us out of the house. A restaurant is one of them. Neither of us want to cook, and we don't want to be sad and miserable in the house all day. I'm sure there are lots of lonely people who would like to get out and do things. Also, there are plenty of people who don't even celebrate Christmas to begin with. There aren't many places open around the Milwaukee area, so we may end up eating Chinese. At least the movie theaters are open.

So sorry for your loss.

We are in NC. Winter weather in the South is VERY hard to predict and even a little can STOP traffic. We expect to get snow tomorrow but they have yet to decide how much. I would stock your car with blankets, extra food, a shovel, flash light etc. just in case. If the weather seems to be getting bad, find a hotel and stop. It gets bad really fast when the city is not used to dealing with snow. Restaurants will also close if the weather gets bad. I know it sounds crazy to people used to having 6-8 inches of snow on the ground all winter but this is the south!!!

OMG we got three inches of snow today. WOW that is true Christmas miracle. It so funny looking at people slip and slide all over the place.

It wasn't very funny today when DS landed in the ditch with about 1 inch on the road. :sad2: Yeah, he was probably driving too fast when he hit a slick spot and slid into the ditch. He must have hit the culvert because he has a gash in his tire so I guess he'll be needing a new tire. I'm very thankful that he's ok, but could have done without this headache.

We have close road signs every where right now. People is not heding the warnings that should stay home.

I am sorry your son had be out today. We have shut down everything for tomorrow.

I mint for people that did not have be out and was taking a joy ride today. I know it not funny. We almost had some kids and adults kill because some fool decide they could not read the sign road close. We sliding down the hill. We have police officer now guarding the road closer now. It that dangerous.

I'm suprised at how many restaurants and stores are opened in other people's areas. I live in a fairly big city and the only things opened today were gas stations, McDonald's and bery few restaurants (mostly in hotels) Restaurants will be opened tomorrow (alot with shorter hours) and drug stores as well. Malls, grocery stores, etc... will not reopen until the 27th. I work in a restaurant and am glad to have Christmas Eve (we closed at 4)and Christmas day off.
