Specifically the Eastern Caribbean. Wondering if you exchange money to eat lunch when you are in port? Do you drink the water? Or asked for bottled?
Thanks!!

A lot of the Caribbean islands accept USD in stores, restaurants, etc. Regarding drinking water, I would always purchase bottled (including when we visit the US).

Depends a little on where too (both island and venue). We just got off a three day to the Bahamas and in port we drank canned soda, and then went to Senor Frogs and had a cocktail. There certainly was ice in our drinks, although they were alcoholic, and that does have an effect, although it won't kill everything.
I suggest drinking booze. The alcohol will kill the germs. :duck:

Most tourist oriented places it should be fine, although I might not drink random tap water from a drinking fountain or a beach bar. And anytime you're seriously worried about clean water, keep in mind that it's not just for drinking. Ice, fountain soda, and anything rinsed in local water, such as glasses or lettuce can be problematic if the water is contaminated.

Now that said, some people get sour stomachs from changing water, even if it's clean, because the mineral content can vary a lot.
