Hi all,
We are staying overnight at the Westin Hotel and would like some recommendations for where to eat dinner...either close by Westin Hotel or perhaps in airport? Nice but not too expensive...a chain would be fine .....Thanks!

I think the Westin is in the McNamara terminal, not the North Terminal.

At one time the Westin was able to print "guest passes" for registered guests to clear the TSA checkpoint and enter the concourses. I'm not sure if this is still happening, but call the Westin to see.

Here is a link to all the restaurants in the North Terminal and where they are located. I don't know if you are familiar with them, but I like Ruby Tuesday, TG Friday's and Champs.~:)~

Thanks for info ..great...yes Westin is in McNamara but we fly out of the new North with Airtran so info needed for there....that would be great if we could get to concourse so we could feel our way around the night before our flight. I will call hotel.

appreciate it guys!!!

I do not know if the Westin's pass will get you into North. It might only be McNamara.

Let me know what you find out. We were thinking of staying at either the Westin or the Fairfield inn and suites for the park and fly. ( Fairfield is alot cheaper and its new) We will be flying out of the north terminal as weel.

My advice is to NOT leave the airport property. There are no good choices in the immediate area. If you can get a pass, there are some food court type choices at both ends of the terminal along with McDs, Burger King,e tc. There are some interesting Japanese restaurants along with chain restaurants. I just flew into DTW McNamara today, it was as dead as I have ever seen it.
