Our plan is to stay offsite and keep the kids to their normal ish schedule so the idea was to pick a few "must" do places to eat onsite and eat at the house or offsite for the others. The kids won't do well if we make them eat out for 2 weeks solid. They are very well behaved normally but food and eating out to them isn't as exciting as it is to me.

I have just been looking at our list and I think I have too many. I am filling up too many days with "planned" stuff, I wanted it to be a bit more go with the flow.

Anyhow this is what I have got and I am wondering if I should cancel some.

First morning in Orlando
Sat 21 - Crystal Palace 8.05 am Breakfast
We did this last time and liked it, we also liked being in the park early and as our first day is a Saturday we figure an early start and a lunch time departure should miss out on the big weekend crowds at MK.

Sun 22 Le Cellier 1.10 pm Lunch
Am thinking of cancelling this one although I know it is hard to get place and regularly raved about.

Tues 24 Ohana 5.00 pm Dinner
I had a later time for this and managed to get this time which suits us so much better BUT I have also the Wishes dessert buffet scheduled in for 8.00 pm this evening.

Thurs 26 Tusker House 8.00 am Breakfast
I thought about cancelling this one as well, as I had thought it would be like getting into MK early, but it appears it is a bit disorganised when you arrive.

Fri 27 Whispering Canyon 5.00 pm Dinner

Sat 28 Hollywood and Vine FANTASMIC PACKAGE

Wed 1 June Chef Mickey 5.10 pm Dinner
We did this one last time as well and this is our last dinner we liked this one and the kids love the characters. Although that said I suspect we will have met all the characters during our time in the parks but it is a great way to finish off our trip.

I also have the HOB booked as well (can't remember date need to find that out) I have voucher for that.

Any help or thoughts would be great.

plus am talking to hubby about a night out just us and we really liked California Grill last time, but happy to try somewhere else.

Sounds ok to me for the most part. The only one I'd cancel is 'Ohana, as I think the reservation time is too close to the dessert party. Having said that, 'Ohana is one of my favourite restaurants. Could you not move it to another night?

I would leave any ADR's in place so that you have options. It's better to have an ADR (which you can easily cancel at the last minute, even from within any park at Guest Services or even at the restaurant podium) than be stuck with no where to eat because everything is full.

With the exception of 'Ohana and your Dessert Party night as I totally agree with Disney Princess - you are almost certainly going to be STUFFED coming out of 'Ohana, plus you also definitely don't want to skip dessert there (*drools*) if that's what you were planning.

I would cancel Ohana as well.

We ate there for the first time in November and didn't get the hype - it was OK but nothing special.

Desserts at the party plus a light CS meal will be plenty!

You will need to cancel either Ohana or the dessert party. If you are seated late at Ohana you will literally be rushing from there straight to the dessert pary. Personally I would cancel the dessert party but I accept that you may have booked this as something special But one of them needs to go

if you enjoy food, consider Victoria and Albert for your night out alone without the kids....

i ate there for the first time in June and enjoyed it immensely!!!

thanks very much for your help,

what to do what to do ???????????

I think we might cancel the dessert party. Save it for next time........

Hubby and I both agree it will be too much food. On discussion we also don't want to tire the kids out with a late night too early into the trip. We all just don't do well with late nights, early mornings and busy days. We have fantasmic for later in the trip and too be fair they aren't that interested in fireworks, that one was for me.

Maybe I can rearrange dessert party for another night and use it for our night out together, just looked at Prices for Victoria and Albert and they are a little steep. Hubby has agreed to go it alone with the kids in August so I can go to Australia for a wedding, he kinda indicated if we ate at Victoria and Albert we couldn't afford to go to the wedding. I am not giving up that week for a meal

need to look at the menus a bit and pick somewhere to our liking.

Kirsten, I didn't want to impose too much of my personal preferences in my post as we all want something different, but as you are staying offsite and will be paying OOP for your meals I honestly can't imagine you getting the same value out of the dessert party as what you will get at Ohana. Ohana will give you a full meal and dessert and you will be satisfied. Also, as you have an early reservation, you can pop into MK with plenty time to get yourself a great spot for viewing Wishes anyway. Purely from a timing perspective, if you want to spend time at MK I feel that it cuts rather inconveniently into the flow of your evening. With that said, however, both are experiences you will remember so if you do go with dessert for the evening, enjoy the indulgence :goodvibes and the view!

so V&A sometime in the future (it took me about 30 years to get there)...

on the same level as the CG, but a restaurant that i like much better than CG is Citricos at the Grand Floridian...
DD and i had a glorious meal there.....excellent food and absolutely outstanding service...
so for your night out alone (without the kids), i suggest Citricos at the Grand Floridian... :)

Thank you for your insight. We don't tour (shock horror) ;) the same as most people seem to when they go. We tried the split mornings in the parks, nap and wind down and then back to the parks in the evening last year when we were in Disneyland and it just didn't work for our family. Most days we get there at rope drop and leave around 2.30 - 3.00 and we are done for the day. If we have an early dinner we try to stick around for it, or come back for it, if I can't get an early dinner reservation we don't bother with it.

So even with a dinner at 5.00 we wouldn't be coming back into the parks, with the kids. So the dessert party would be interesting as even if the kids had a nap earlier in the day there is no guarantee that they wouldn't be cranky by 9.00 pm Wishes.

I just need to keep remembering, the kids won't be little for ever, this won't be our last trip and pretty much everything will still be there when we return. When they are older we can do the late night stuff with them.

There we go I have decided myself that the best thing to go will be the dessert party.

Now if Ohana isn't as good as people say it is there will be trouble. :lmao: Except Elise79 she can say I told you so.
