I have a 5 year old who is a very pickey eater. I would appreciate any restaurant recommendations so that some of my stress can be alleviated. Also, do most Disney restaurants offer a kids menu?

:welcome: to The DisBoards, RobA! You can read menus (Table Service & Counter Service) from all of the dining spots in Disney by clicking here http://www.allears.net/menu/menus.htm :upsidedow And yes, almost all of the places have children's menus. Many people find the buffets great for picky eaters. :upsidedow

All the restaurants and counter service places have kids menus. IF you are at a table service, the servers will work with you to find something your child can eat. Also remember that if there is a side dish anywhere on the menu (like fries, rice, baked potato) listed with a meal, you can ask just for the side.

At counter service, if the kids menus don't appeal to you and there is something like a basket with fries in it, you can always ask for just the fries.

Don't think you have to get the entire meal as it's advertised. My husband will often substitute fries for rice even if the menu description lists his entree as coming with fries. Or the other way around.

If nothing more, there's McDonald's (not called a McDonald's but they are there) in each of the four parks for chicken nuggets and fries (no burgers).

There's really no reason for anyone to go hungry at Disney World.

Exactly what does the kid eat? Can't do recommendations unless we know what the child eats.

I agree. I'm a very picky 30-year-old, and Boma is my favorite restaurant in WDW. If you kid likes meat (as mine does), they'll be happy.

Hi.. & Welcome to the boards.... Dont stress out... Ur going to be fine... Most restaurants will customize what they already have on the menu for pickey eaters... Friends of mine thought they were going to have a hard time in WDW because they have food allergies, but they were pleasently surprised when they booked restaurants & they didnt have a problem.

Buffets usually work best for the most part. Some of the favs for kids are Chef Mickeys, 1900 Park Fare & Crystal Palace. You can also check out the dining page on Dis and look over the menu options... You can find almost anything there & it might help picking out the ones that he loves before going.

I think every restaurant has a kids menu but I would recommend the buffets for a picky eater of any age.

i'm also exetremely picky, as the DBF puts it is easier for him to remember what I will eat as rather than what I won't. With that in mind I went through as the menus and tried to pick places with basic food that I would eat yet something for him too. Our ADRs are Tony's Town Square, Coral Reef (for DBF cause I don't eat seafood but I'll get steak), Cap'n Jack, Concourse Steakhouse, and Sci Fi Dine INN. I was really wanting to do San Angels and Liberty Tree Travern but DBF nixed it.
