This is our first Disney trip and we will be staying at the swn & Dolphin. I need any advice I can get on the restuants there. How about the character dining???? Thanks

SWAN:
Gulliver's Grill at Garden Grove is a character dinner. Also serves B/L which are not character meals.

Kimono's is Japanese serving Dinner and Snacks.

Palio is a VERY VERY GOOD Italian place that serves Dinner only.

DOLPHIN:
Shula's is the best steak house in all of WDW IMHO.

bluezoo and Fresh are two new restaraunts that I have not been to. Someone else may want to comment on these two. I have read that Fresh does have a character breakfast.

Here Are The Menus

Hope This Helps,

I really only know about a few restaurants in the Dolphin.

Fresh is a great place to go for breakfast. It's a buffet but they make most of the hot food fresh for you. Some of there food is pretty innovative like cookie dough pancakes or strawberry french toast. There is also the typical stuff like muffins and pastries.

Dolphin Fountain is a fun place to eat but I find the service is usually not the greatest. They have stuff like hamburgers, hot dogs, griled cheese, etc. The ice cream and sundaes are quite good here.

Tubbies is the place I usually eat at. It's cafeteria style and open 24 hours a day. They have hanburgers, grilled chicken, veggie burgers, pizza, and some blue plate specials that change every day. There are also pre-packaged sandwiches, salads, and desserts. I've never had their hot breakfast stuff, but I usually grab a bagel or krispy creme donut, and starbucks coffee.

I hope this helps :D. Have a great time! I just got back from the Dolphin a few weeks ago so pm me if you have any questions.

FRESH is excellent for breakfast or lunch or brunch on the weekends (it's located in the Dolphin). The main part of your meal is "made to order" even though it's a buffet, hence the name "FRESH".

Even though we've still not been to BLUE ZOO, I've only heard great things about it.

Tubbi's, Shula's and the Dolphin Fountain are also located in the Dolphin. Tubbi's is open 24 hrs, very convenient and has the refillable mugs.

The Swan's PALIO is very good Italian type fare, Gulliver's has a character dinner every night with a buffet OR order from their menu. As BCVBRUCE mentioned it's also the Garden Grove Cafe at breakfast but only has characters on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Lots of great options between both OR you can also walk or boat over to some of the other resort restaurants at the YC (Yachtsman Steakhouse & Yacht Club Galley), BC (Cape May Cafe & Beaches and Cream), BW (Spoodles, Flying Fish and other restaurants on the boardwalk including ESPN club and Big River Brewing Works (something like that))....SO LOTS OF CHOICES are a walk away:teeth:

EPCOT & MGM are also just a quick boat ride away. EPCOT's World Showcase is right through the Int'l Gateway where you'll enter EPCOT and there are many restaurants to choose from all around the world!!

My recommendations would be:
1. Fresh ( tied with Boma for our favorite WDW breakfast place)
2. Palio
3. Shula's
4. bluezoo
5. Tubbi's (the only place for quick food at either resort)

Gulliver's is your only option for a character meal at the Swan/Dolphin, but I would suggest you skip it. We have tried it twice and found neither the food or the service to be anything to write home about. You are within walking distance to the BC (Cape May character breakfast) or Epcot (Garden Grill character meal), and I would pick those two charachter meal options over Gulliver's any day.

The Swan/Dolphin is so close to all of the Epcot resorts that you will have a plethora of great dining options within a 5-10 minute walk (Beaches and Cream, Flying Fish, Spoobles, Yachtsman Steakhouse).

We have stayed at both the Swan and BCV, in the Epcot resort area, and absolutely love staying in this area. There is so much to do! The renovated rooms at the Swan/Dolphin are wonderful! Enjoy your first stay!
