This is the first time my family and I have been to CA and I was wondering is there a restaurant that we should try while we are there? One that is in CA?

Lots of good counter food in the Pacific Wharf area (bread bowl soup & salads, mexican food etc.). Great Corny Dogs at Corn Dog Palace.

& a nice moderate sit down restaurant (the Trattoria) that has good Italian food & if nice outside allows for alfresco dining a few feet above the crowds in the heart of DCA. Recommended by many here on the Dis (including me).

Just outside DCA, just yards from the GCH private entrance: Whitewater Snacks is my favorite place to eat just steps outside DCA.

Great chicken nachos at Whitewater snacks in GCH. I also like Taste Pilots Grill for fast food, burgers & such. And of course, Corn dogs are great at Corn Dog Castle! For a bit nicer meal, try Storytellers at GCH or Napa Rose for high end dining.
