Restaurant Suggestions

We will be honeymooning to Disney World in mid October of this year. Any suggestions on some good restaurants to try? We are using the dining plan for the first time!!

I highly recommend going over to the Disney Restaurants boards. There are tons of great reviews and TRs over there. The folks that frequent that board give great details and pictures!

My favs:
Cinderella's Royal Table for atmosphere
The Hollywood Brown Derby for the food
Le Cellier for the food
O'hana for the fun

We'll be there for our Disneymoon at the end of October. We're also using the dining plan, and the only two places we've come to a decision on so far are The San Angel Inn and The Coral Reef. There's so many places to choose from, we're having a hard time narrowing it down.

there are some terrific restaurants on the dining plan. go to allearsnet.com and pull up menus and find what you really enjoy. Capt Jacks downtown disney is great. Wife gets the twin lobster tails and I get the full rack of ribs. All is covered under the dining plan as well as the tip is covered.

Keep in mind, we are a family with a teenager, so we tend to go for the fun restaurants. These are some of our favorites:

~Crystal Palace: Character meal, good food & lots of fun
~Boma at AKL: The food is wonderful, the atmosphere fun and bustling
~Donald's Breakfastaurus.. (or however it is spelled LOL) in AK: Character breakfast, ton of fun.
~Tusker House in AKL: This is a counter service meal, but it is good food and gives a nice break from the AK heat!
~O'hana Character Breakfast: Really good food and the characters are so much fun!


We have eaten at Restaurant Marrakesh and Chef's De France several times, but I am steering away from them on this trip. I just kind of feel like their service has dropped off. The food is still very good, but the service was lacking the last time we were there.

This is our absolute favorite Restaurant! It is in Wilderness Lodge, which is the hotel we typically stay at. 72 more days, and I get to go back! YEAH!

They serve barbeque - an All You Can Eat Skillet, with chicken, ribs, sausage, mashed potatoes (SO GOOD!), beans, etc. Very Good! Also, on dining plan there - the drink that comes with your meal can be the All You care to enjoy Shakes!, plus dessert! Which we didn't even eat dessert that meal!

Other good ones - Liberty Tree Tavern - Family Style Thanksgiving Type Meal.

We will be going to LeCellier this trip, we've heard it's good.

I would suggest Cinderella's Castle and Donald's Breakfastaursous (can't spell it either!)

Cinderella's Castle is awesome atmosphere and the lamb & crab soup was so good.

Donald's Breakfast is so much fun! and buffet.

I haven't been to so many cause we usually stay offsite, but that's mine

Hollywood Brown Derby is really good too!

For our trip, I have made reservations for O'Hana's, Cinderella's Royal Table, the Coral Reef and and the Sci-Fi drive in. Neither of us have been to DIsney World, but hopefully these are good choices.

I also would like to try Boma so I might try to get a reservation for that. It is hard to fit in all these meals in just a week.

These are the places I'd recommend. Also check out the Restaurant board for more suggestions. Allearsnet.com also has extensive reviews and current menus for most restaurants.

Table Service:

Le Cellier at the Canada Pavilion in Epcot for the food and atmosphere.

Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The food here is absolutely amazing! Fantastic wine selection, too. Jiko is our first night dinner tradition! The service is superb and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant is beautifully themed and very romantic.

Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge is good too. It shares some flavors with Jiko but this is much more casual and buffet-style

Bistro de Paris at France in Epcot. This is not on the dining plan, but if you want/need to get a nice TS meal out-of-pocket, this is the place!

Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge. This is a really fun restaurant. The servers are a hoot and you'd definitely get some special attention if they find out it is your honeymoon!

Counter Service:

Pecos Bill and Columbia Harbor House at Magic Kingdom.

Tusker House at Animal Kingdom.

Sunshine Seasons, Cantina de San Angel, and Tangierie Cafe at Epcot.

Backlot Express or Rosie's at MGM.

we just disneymooed in January and really enjoyed coral reef, Narcoossees, the GF cafe, 1900 park fare. good luck!

I have to agree - you must try the Brown Derby, every time we go we make sure that we book this, you can book this 180 days before you go, that goes for any restaurant. I also highly recommend the dinner show for this it works like this, you make your reservations by phone before you arrive and you will usually get a table no later than 4:30pm, we originally thought that this would be too early, but trust us it isn't, as by the time you have been seated and had your meal, you can then be seated in your reserved Fantasmic seats, you will be issued a ticket to present to a disney cast member, and you get to see behind the scenes...haha that is you get to walk round the back of MGM, something you don't usually see.

We also recommend Le Cellier Steak House, the steak is to die for.

We are planning to go to the Victoria and Albert this year, has anybody been here, if so what is it like.
