We'd appreciate any restaurant suggestions for an upcoming weekend trip to VB. We're not staying at DVC, but I figure the VB DVC fans will be able to give us some good suggestions.

We'll be staying Feb 20-22 at the Costa d' Este Resort at 3244 Ocean Drive in VB. It's owned by Gloria Estefan and looks very nice. We may dine there one night, but any other suggestions - especially for casual seafood places - would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Our favorite off-property restaurant is Woody's BBQ in Sebastian. It's on Rt. 1 on the northbound side.

I don't get the Ocean Grill and Capt. Hiram's love. Ocean Grill's menu is very dated, service is average and the place smells musty, like I was being hugged by my grandmother. Capt. Hiram's is a major tourist trap--mediocre, overpriced food. I could see going to Capt. Hiram's for drinks and apps, because the setting is great, right on the Indian River, but we wouldn't go back for dinner.

We stayed at VB Disney a few years ago & loved it,wanted to bring our puppy last year at Xmas time, so we stayed at South Beach, loved the area so much, we came in June & bought a condo here. We are here now. We like the Lemon Tree & Ninos (for Italian) both are in Oceanside on the island. You will love it here.

Another NO vote for Ocean Grill, musty old, dirty, look for the blue haired ladies. Captain Hiram's is mediocre at best. Wish I could be of more help.

Carmel's on Miracle Mile is excellent. It's a bit expensive but worth it in terms of atmosphere, food and wine. Te Amo on South Beach has good Italian. On Ocean Dr. just south of Gloria's is Tango II. It's across from Humiston Park.

At Christmas we heard a family talk about Lemon Tree --- haven't found a menu for them...can anyone point me in the right direction. Like Bono's BBQ in Vero. Al Jalisco - more than one location. For a great breakfast Country Eggs and Ham in Sebastian. Orchid Isle is great for pizza, etc.

WE loved both Squid Lips and Cap'n Hiram's. Of course we're from Northern Minnesota so we don't have much experience with seafood except the fresh water kind...!:rotfl:

Ocean Grill for dinner is awesome, Try the Jacques St. Croix or something like it. Shrimp & scallops baked in cheese sauce. For a great brunch, downtown Vero has the "Black Pearl." Spinners inside the Disney Resort also has a nice menu with reasonable prices.

Enjoy your vacation. :cool1::banana::banana:
