Restaurant Suggestion?!?

On our upcoming October trip I've decided to not do the dining plan. I've found in the past that we waste a lot of food and cost-wise it doesn't pay off (i.e. we don't need a dessert after every meal, etc.). We will mostly be eating quick service while we are there, but are going to do a few table service meals. We are definitely going to have dinner at Be Our Guest and also have lunch or dinner at Rainforest Cafe (I know...but it's DD's favorite restaurant across all of Disney).

I'd like to schedule one other table service meal. We aren't big breakfast eaters, so breakfast is out (we typically just do cereal in our room). I'm also not interested in a buffet-style meal (aside from maybe Tusker House because the buffet is somewhat unique there).

We typically stay in the parks for meals, but we are doing a few shorter days at MK on MNSSHP nights that we aren't staying for the party and would be open to eating at one of the monorail resorts on one of those nights. If you could pick one other table service meal in any of the parks, Disney Springs, or a monorail resort...which one would you recommend? Thanks for your advice!

Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is a must for our family! It's not on the monorail but an easy boat ride from the MK. We love it!!

Two of our must dos are lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern and a meal at 50s Prime Time Cafe. Trattoria del Forno at the Boardwalk is a new favorite...we've only been once but plan to return on our next trip.

On my list of places to try: The Wave in the Contemporary and Via Napoli in Epcot. They both consistently get good reviews on the dis.

Thanks, these are great suggestions! We are staying at AKL, so Sanaa would definitely be convenient! I've also wanted to try Via Napoli, so I'm going to add that to the short list as well. Hoop-de-doo sounds like fun too...too many choices!

I was going to recommend Sanaa! It was my favorite meal on our last trip. The food was great and the view was very fun with kids. We had an 11AM lunch there on an "off" morning at the resort, and then went to AK for the afternoon. It was a perfect day. Dinner would be great too.

My second recommendation was going to be Via Napoli. Cost wise, it is a great choice, since you can order a large pizza and share it with the table. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant too.

Of the monorail restaurants, my favorites are Kona Cafe at the Poly and Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian.

We love Ohana in the Poly, and pretty much any WS restaurants (with Teppan Edo being my favorite and Germany being the family favorite)

Sanaa is our favorite restaurant on property. It also makes a good OOP meal since you can get the bread service and share a meal.

We bypassed the Dining Plan for the first time this year (December 2015), and likely won't go back to a DP unless we go during the Free DP time. For us, we LOVE experiencing the high quality food that can be found all over Disney. Probably our most fun (DH, DW, 13YD, 11YS) was ordering an entre at our favorite countries at the World Showcase. We ended up purchasing 4 meals in total, but shared each one. Was awesome. But that's not what you asked.

My favorite Table Service Meals (all quite different experiences) are also found at my favorite resort area (World Showcase): Via Napoli (fantastic pizza, great seafood and pasta), Nine Dragons (likely the best american-chineese food I have ever had....the sauces....wow) and my new favorite restaurant Chefs de France. You can't go wrong with any of these.

I know you only asked for one and not a buffet, but...

We usually try to get to Boma at AKL each trip - it's that good.

As for restaurants at a monorail resort -
At the contemporary: Love love love California Grill. And if you go early you can go back and watch wishes from the lounge with your dinner receipt.

Also really like The Wave. It's underrated and the food is quite good. DH had the best fish there as their daily special. It's huge so usually has space but it has no windows.

At GF we have only tried 1900 park fare for dinner. Again, it's a buffet but decent and fun. We'll try citrico's and narcoosees on our next trip, I think. Some friends who are Disney aficionados say that narcoosees is their favorite restaurant at all of WDW.

At the Poly we've only been to Kona Cafe for dinner and we enjoyed it as well. It's sort of pac rim/pan Asian and the fish entrees were very very good. And it's just off the lobby at the monorail level so easy to get to and nice to look around while waiting for your table.

The Wave, Kona if you like sushi, LTT, San Angel Inn, Teppan Edo

I really like Sanaa but it depends how picky your kids are.

CG and Narcoosees are good but depends on what your budget it. I think the kids would like CG if it is in your budget (fireworks). You can do apps and desserts to stay within budget.
