Just back from a whirlwind trip to WDW. Had a great time, and of course had a great time eating!

August 12th:
Breakfast: Storybook Princess Breakfast in Norway. This was a real treat! Akersaus truly looked like the inside of a medeval castle. The CM's were wonderful! Our server was Knut from Norway, and he was delightful! Very efficient and friendly! When we arrived we were seated immediately, even though we were 10 minutes early for our PS. The fruit and baked goods were already waiting for us at the table, and Knut was there immediately to give us fresh OJ and take our beverage order. I had coffee (which was fresh and aromatic) and DD had chocolate milk in a huge glass! After about 10 minutes, the main courses arrived in a huge skillet. There were scrambled eggs (neither DD or I liked them-- they were cooked way too hard), bacon, sausage, french toast sticks and the most delicious cheddar cheese potatos I have ever put in my mouth. We got seconds on the the potatos and bacon. The princesses started their rounds in the front of the castle, so we had almost finished eating by the time they got to our table, which was good, so it wouldn't interfere with DD's meal. Snow White was beautiful... exactly as you would expect Snow White to be! Mary Poppins came next, and spoke in her most proper British accent.. and looked very much like a young Julie Andrews. Aurora was next... I don't know, maybe it is me, but the wig on that princesses costume just doesn't seem to look right on anyone that wears it. She had on the blue dress on this day. Belle was after that... and she was a very good Belle. Last was Jasmine, and who my DD was dying to meet! DD was dressed in her Jasmine costume, and Jasmine showed her how to stand with attitude, and kept telling all of the other princesses what good taste DD had! The characters didn't seem rushed in the least and posed for pictures, signed autographs and talked with each table. I hope they extend this breakfast indefinitely!

August 12th-- lunch/dinner-- Primetime 50's Cafe. What took me so long to eat there???? We were seated at 3:55 and given the choice of the lunch or dinner menu. DH chose the dinner menu. Our server was Cindy, and she was somewhat lowkey compared to some others in they same room, but still a lot of fun. DH had to set the table, and got reprimanded for having his hat on at the table... my DD's idea, because she wanted to see what would happen! The food was GREAT! DH had the meatloaf (he had been whining for meatloaf for a while) and it was certainly no disappointment! He completely cleaned his plate, veggies and all! I had the potroast... oh, was that ever GOOD, and the servings were HUGE! I did eat all of my veggies, because I didn't want them on the dessert! DD had the pasta with spaghetti sauce. She said that she didn't want anything with veggies, in case she couldn't finish them. She said the pasta was really good, and she did help me with my green beans! For dessert we had the s'mores. YUMMY!!! DD and I had a great time eating them! This restaurant will definitely be on our must do list, so thanks to all who helped me make the decision to eat there!

August 13th-- at off site at Burger King for lunch as we were house hunting, and for dinner we ate at Cape May Cafe. No disappointments there, as usual! The clams and mussels were tender as always, and the beef and chicken on the landlubbers side were quite delicious! The variety and quality of the desserts were wonderful, as well. This is ALWAYS on our must do list!

August 14th-- We got the meal tickets at AK, and they were quite a good deal! We ate a relatively late breakfast at Pizzafari. DH got the meat pizza and DD and I split the cheesebread and marinara sauce. For a late lunch, we used our coupons to eat at Tusker House! It was delicious! I had the chicken salad with balsalmic vinegarette...delicious!!! DH had the rotisserie chicken which was wonderful, tender, and moist, and the mashed potatos and green beans were delicious! DD had the macoroni and cheese, and at some of her daddy's green beans. The meal deal is really good. Our entrees, by themselves were over $8, and the drinks (they give you the jumbo ones) would have been around $3, and then we got bottled water and ice cream too, all for $11 for adults and $6 for kids!

August 14th dinner-- Matsu Ma Lounge-- very relaxing with a lovely view of the World Showcase Lake! DD had the Tempura Shrimp and vegetables. I had the California Roll, DH had the Tuna Sushi and we all split a cucumber roll. Filling and delicious, with good service. Afterwards, we went out on the balcony outside the restaurant and watched Illuminations. It was a great spot!

August 15th-- counter service at the Electric Umbrella at Epcot... the hot dogs were huge, as was the side of fries! For lunch/dinner we ate at TGI Fridays on I-192, which was very good, and the service there was great, as well. They have a repeat guest card you can get, and you earn points toward free food. We managed, with one meal, to earn enough points for a free appetizer! No, it isn't onsite, but it is good... and they have one at Crossroads at Lake Buena Vista, which is in walking distance of the DTD resorts such at the Courtyard Marriott, etc!

Now, I have to think about where to eat in October!!! Oh, the decisions!!!:)

Thanks for the reviews - I really enjoyed them!

I noticed that you mentioned you were house hunting. Planning a move to the Orlando area?
