Restaurant Recommendations

I like the 50's Prime Time Cafe too, really fun!
And I felt in love with Boma, I think it's the best Buffet restaurant in WDW.

We loved Boma for dinner also. We have have breakfast there too but that didnt seem quite as good as dinner.:)

Another fan of Sanaa - and we didn't think it was too expensive. Also a fan of Beaches and Cream - share a sandwich and share a yummy banana split (and still leave stuffed :)) In the expensive category, we like Citricos.

Our favorite offsite restaurant is Cafe Tu Tu Tango. It is on I-drive. Priced better than Disney. Google it.

It is a tapas restaurant (small plates). Price is good and the atmosphere is tops. The place is into into art. Usually there is an artist working onsite and lots of art all around. Even had a belly dancer last time we were there.

Sit at the kitchen bar (not the booze bar). It's great watching them put everything together.

When doing adult only trips, we've taken to sleeping in and using the resort pool mid morning (on or off site), then enjoy our 'big' meal of the day at lunch. We've enjoyed the crossroads' red lobster several times for lunch.

I was going to mention this one and Bahama Breeze. There are lots of great onsite options which most have also covered. Happy eating:goodvibes

Another vote for Sanaa - we've been there three times and its wonderful. Make sure you have the Chai Cream for dessert.
We went to Bongos last night and was bland, bland, bland. Service was fine.
Last year we ate at the Captains Grill at the Yacht Club, very overlooked by most. :rolleyes1 Wish we would have returned there over Bongos.
We took the ferry to Port Orleans and tried the beignets, yummy! Its a good thing Disney takes out the calories !

There are a lot of good restaurants listed above, I'll add my two cents worth: Definitely try California Grill if you haven't already, though a little pricey. I don't see any love for Les Chefs de France listed above- I really like it:). If you do go to Bahama Breeze (offsite and a chain restaurant) get the Key Lime Pie: delicious! If you get out for breakfast, it is absolutely imperative that you go to Kona Cafe in the Polynesian and try the Tonga Toast!!

Good Italian food at Portobello's downtown disney.
Sanaa is a good choice for a change in menu options
Le Cellier if you can get in is good for lunch
California Grill is outstanding

Good luck

Boma(breakfast or dinner) and Jiko at AKL. Now THAT's a great adventure! :thumbsup2

In addition to the onsite suggestions you've already received, we love Earl of Sandwich at DTD for very casual, inexpensive meals.

Offsite, we use two main venues -- Crossroads, just down the road from SSR (lots of choices) and Celebration.

In Celebration, our two favorites are Columbia and Kilwin's. We also enjoy walking around Celebration after dinner.

Columbia is a famous Spanish restaurant from the historic Ybor City area of Tampa. Everything on the menu is very good. Their legendary 1905 Salad (mixed at your table) is a must with every meal. Great food, great service, moderate prices.

Kilwins is a chocolatier/ice cream place. Both the chocolates and the ice cream are to die for. We usually bring home a bunch of Toasted Coconut ice cream.

We've been to the Old Town Tavern several times without really being impressed much. We'll skip it next trip.

For fine steaks, Charley's (several locations) is better than anything onsite. Less crowded, better steaks, better service, and although pricey, less expensive than the premier onsite places.

If you are into the finer dining, make sure that you hit Jiko's for a nice darkened atmosphere, and smooth/calm evening with a bottle of wine. It is a little bit louder than some other signature dining, but the food and atmosphere make it all worth while.

My wife and I always do a "date" at the Brown Derby in the Disney Hollywood Studios. A nice recreation of old Hollywood inside, and the food is terrific. Order the Cobb Salad, which was first introduced at the Brown Derby and is much different from the way it is served today--chopped so fine it's "riced," and spectacularly delicious. And get a slice of grapefruit cake at the end of the meal, another Hollywood tradition.

I also highly recommend Mama Melrose's, and the Grand Floridian Cafe!
