In March, dh and I will be going to DL for the first time! I'm so excited!

It will be our 20th anniversary, and I'd love some recommendations for a restaurant for a romantic anniversary dinner.

I'd also like recommendations for the other meals too! In the parks, resorts, DD, wherever! :)

Thanks!

Blue Buyou is a very romantic setting that is in Disneyland. It is attached to the POC ride and you can get water side seating and watch the boats go by. It is kinda dark and has "firefly's" over head. The food is really good, but plan on spending 20-25 per person for dinner just on the meal.

If youget the Birnbaums Disneyland Resort book it lists all the eateries and gives a price rating. There are lots of nice sit down places in Downtown Disney, but I haven't been to DL since DD opened. I'll know more after my trip next week. :bounce:

You can make reservations for the sitdown places 30 days in advance by calling 714-781-DINE

We NEVER miss having lunch or dinner at Blue Bayou, it is the most BEAUTIFUL Restaurant, the atmosphere is very romantic and the food is delicious, don't miss it!!!

Thanks! That sounds wonderful! :D

Rhonda, if you want a truly outststanding place for your dinner I would recommend Napa Rose at the Grand Californian. This is an award-winning restaurant and is the perfect place to enjoy your anniversary.

As for other restaurant recommendations, at Downtown Disney I like Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen, Naples Ristorante and the ESPN Zone. If you like Japanese food, Yamabuki at the Paradise Pier Hotel is excellent. Hook's Pointe at the Disneyland Hotel is also very good. For a casual atmosphere, Storytellers Cafe at the Grand Californian is perfect, and the food is very good.

In the parks, we like Red Rockett's Pizza Port for counter service food at Disneyland. Blue Bayou is wonderful too, as you have been told. But it's IN the park and if you want a quieter place to enjoy dinner (or if you drink and want some bubbly to celebrate your anniversary) I would definitely head to a resort restaurant. :)

Thanks a lot Michelle. I had my mind all made up, then you had to go and confuse me!! ;)

Well, nobody says you can't have TWO anniversary dinners, right?? So maybe we can do one at the Napa Rose (with bubbly) and the next night at Blue Bayou (without)! Sounds good to me! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Thank you!

I stayed at GC last October and although we didn't get to eat at Napa Rose, we went thru it during the hotel tour and it looked gorgeous!! I think you're right, nothing wrong with two anniversary meals! (Maybe you could have lunch at Blue Bayou one day and dinner at Napa Rose another?)

As for other meals, we had MANY during our last trip, and I was especially pleased with the restaurants in DD. We ate at Y Arriba Y Arriba (which I understand from another post is closed, too bad!), Naples (for lunch, VERY good!), and La Brea Bakery (breakfast, lox and bagels, excellent!). We also ate at ESPN, and while the portions were large and the food was okay, I don't know if I'd go back (waiting 30 minutes during slow season at 3 in the afternoon, plus having to leave our ID with them, for "okay" service and food). We also had dinner at one of the DLH restaurants, but the name escapes me at the moment.

Oh, and I'd like to give a big thumbs up for Storyteller's Cafe. We had two meals there, a buffet breakfast (included in our package) which was excellent and offered many choices, and a sit down dinner (they have buffet as well, but we ordered off the menu since we weren't hungry enough for buffet). The corn chowder is absolutely to die for!! (And although I love clam chowder, I'm not normally a huge fan of corn chowder, but I went with the recommendation of the person who gave the hotel tour.) They also had a great salad with pears, nuts, and cheese on top of mixed greens.
