Hi there!

First of all I would like to say that I’m from Holland, so I apologize if my English isn’t correct.
I’ll do my best to make myself clear as good as possible

But back to my question:
What restaurants would you recommend for us, two adults going to WDW for the very first time?

We have made some reservations already and I would like your opinion about our choices

Are these good choises or would you recommend other places instead?

Here’s our list of reservations:
Boma - dinner
Ohana – dinner (I’m not sure about this one)
Le Cellier - dinner
Tokyo dining – dinner
Chef Mickey’s – breakfast (I’m not sure about this one. Is it to childlike?)
Jiko the cooking place – dinner
California Grill – dinner

Hope you can help me!

Thanks!

Anne

They all seem good to me. Chef Mickey's has good selection but it is a very kid oriented restaurant but my group the youngest is 20 and we still love it! :) As well Ohana is good you get alot of food, but its alot of meat too much for me! But dessert is good. But your desserts seem good but its hard to judge what is your group like?

Here's my opinions:

Boma - dinner

DH and I love this place!!!! We ate breakfast and dinner here and loved it so much!!! I highly recommend this one.

Ohana – dinner (I’m not sure about this one)

We haven't eaten here, but are making an ADR for dinner in March 2009 - it will just be me, DH, and my parents. I'm really looking forward to this one.

Le Cellier - dinner

We MISSED our ADR for this one in January but I hear it's WONDERFUL!!! We are making an ADR for this one in March and will be keeping this one!!

Tokyo dining - dinner

Can't comment on this one - sorry

Chef Mickey’s – breakfast (I’m not sure about this one. Is it to childlike?)

We thought about doing this for breakfast on our next trip but was warned by a few that it's mediocre food and to skip it if we didn't have children.

Jiko the cooking place – dinner

WONDERFUL atmosphere - TERRIBLE food.... We just didn't like it at all!!!! Having said that, it's a must try just because it's so beautiful and the food is very different - you may love it - most here on the DIS do!!!

California Grill – dinner

This was our favorite meal during our honeymoon in January. The atmosphere is wonderful, the view is amazing, and the food is second to none. We will always eat here once during each visit to WDW!

Here are a few other places we enjoyed (we went for the first time in January - it was our honeymoon - we are 20 and 22).

Yak and Yeti - WONDERFUL food!!!!!!!! We really enjoyed this place - it was a wonderful lunch at Animal Kingdom.

The Coral Reef - this was a great meal too - we ate lunch here - sat right beside the HUGE aquarium wall - food was delish and you can't beat the atmosphere!!!

Chefs De France - We really enjoyed having dinner here and got to view Illuminations from our table!!!

Raglan Road - We are going here during our next trip and I'm really excited!!!

Cinderella's Royal Table - Dining inside the castle is so romantic - we loved it!

Flying Fish Cafe - We are eating here in March - if you like seafood I hear this is the place to go!

thank you so much for your comments! :)

We are thinking bout skipping Chef Mickey's, because it seems to childlike

I'm thinking of making ADR for The Graden View Lounge Afternoon tea instead.

You are very welcome!!! I am making an ADR for Afternoon tea at the Garden View Lounge for March - just me and my mom while my dad and my hubby go to a Braves baseball game!!

Some of our favorites are Jiko, Flying Fish, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Bistro de Paris.

Here's hoping you have an EXCELLENT first trip! Be sure to stop by Guest Services and get your "First Visit" button!

I think you'll find that the Mister (Disney) and I would definitely recommend:

Yachtsman Steak House: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1781267
Flying Fish: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1767801
Jiko: yet to be written
Citriccos: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1765862
Victoria & Alberts: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=12604553

That said, my very first meal at WDW was the Character Breakfast at Ohano! It was a great experience. Boma also has a great breakfast buffet, but the only character there were Mister Disney and I.

I think that adults can enjoy a character meal... We do.... I would suggest Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club for breakfast if you want a more "adult like" character meal.

My favorites for adults are:
1) Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge (can take the boat from the MK to get there)
2) Yachtsmen Steakhouse at the Yachts Club (walk over from Epcot)
3) Le Cellier in Epcot

Your restaurant list looks good to me. I LOVE Boma. I could eat there every night. The only think I would suggest is doing O'hana for the character breakfast. The atmosphere is great and the view is spectacular. I did O'hana twice (once with only adults) and Chef Mickey's once and if I was asked I would do O'hana a 3rd time.

Your choices so far sound good, though 'Ohana and Chef Mickey's might not be exactly what you're looking for. At 'Ohana they do things like coconut races and other activities for kids, and it can get really loud and there. That and food quality are why we haven't been back.

Chef Mickey's is really a character meal *for* kids. I would, as a PP said, go to Cape May for breakfast if you want a character meal. Character interaction is much more low key, and they don't do anything like the "napking swinging" sort of antics at Chef Mickey's. Plus the food is great!! :thumbsup2

We *love* Jiko and Boma. As some other posters suggeted, check out Yachtsman Steakhouse, Artist Point, and Flying Fish. Spoodles is great, too!

Enjoy your first trip!! :hippie:

Our favorite TS meals for two adults are (in no particular order)

Restaurant Marakesh (sp)
Biergarten
50s Prime Time Cafe
Hollywood & Vine (at NIGHT)

I'd skip Chef Mic's and have breakfast at Wispering Canyon or Crystal Palace, instead. Cp's buffet is much better and you'll have more fun at WCC. I'd also recommend Narccoosses, the Hoop Dee Doo Revue, and Beaches 'n Creme.

I agree that Whispering Canyon at the WL is a very yummy and fun breakfast for adults.... Also love the Hoop Dee Doo:thumbsup2

We love this place. We tried it for the first time last year and absolutely loved it :lovestruc

Your ADRs look great. I really enjoy Boma. My only other suggestions would be Narcoossees. If you go around the time of Wishes you can see the fireworks and the food is excellent. As for California Grill I would make the same suggestion to try and be there during the fireworks. I have heard the view is beautiful.

I too love Hollywood& Vine @ nite
Primetime Cafe @ lunch
Le Cellier
@ Downtown Disney we like Fulton's GREAT dessert!! ENJOY:goodvibes

thanks everyone for all your tips and suggestions!
We've cancelled our Chef Mickey's reservation and sitched it to the Whispering Canyon Cafe for breakfast (we are staying at WL, so that's convienent!)

thanks again everyone!
