Hey nerds,

My wife and I are heading to Disneyland for a short trip. What would be your two choices for dinner. We did the blue Bayou last time and we didn’t love it. Open to fine dining or also something more casual so the sky is the limit. Thanks !

Napa Rose is my fav for the finer dining category...Carnation Cafe for the casual category is somewhere that most in our party leaves happy and satisfied from. If you can book during the parade and be seated outside it is a lot of fun...you can't really see the parade other then tops of floats over people's heads but adds to the vibe with it going by

I really wanna like Carnation Cafe but continually disappointed in the food we get.

Not to hijack the thread, but what are your favorites at Great Maple? I have been wanting to try it out!
They have so many good things on the menu!
I've been twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner.
For breakfast I ordered the Ribeye Hash, and it was amazing! One of my friends ordered the Smoked Bacon Scramble, and the other one ordered the Biscuit Benedict, and they both loved what they ordered.
The time I went for dinner, I ordered the Cobb Wedge Salad, and it was really filling. One person in my group ordered the Steakhouse Burger, and that thing was huge!
The Parmesan Truffle Fries are the best!

Any food places to avoid at DL/DCA/DTD? Any place good to go for a birthday celebration? DD19 turns 20! We did Storybook Cafe at GCH a few years ago and loved the Pork Belly Pizza.

I don't know if I posted this in the "worst snack or meal" thread but we have been to Naples in DTD twice now and we will not be back.

First time was okay but the bruschetta bread was so hard it was almost uneatable. The second time was terrible, drinks were bad, food was bad, wait time for drinks and meals were very long. The only redeeming part was our server who was super nice. The restaurant ended up comping a fair portion of our bill but we did make sure to tip based on the amount the bill should have been, there is no reason the server should have been penalized for the kitchen and bar mistakes!

But yeah, for us it is Naples for somewhere to avoid.

For where to go I would say Napa Rose every time but if you are looking for something a little less fine dining then Carthay Circle, then Carthay Circle Lounge (small plates so we order a bunch and do a tapas meal!), and finally Wine Country.

Storytellers.

What type of food, experience or price point are you trying to avoid?

There is a thread with worst food experiences. What is the WORST snack or meal you've ever had at DL?
Oh yeah, I knew "Story" was in the name!!! The price point trying to avoid is the nearly $300 for 4 people point. LOL Seriously, just pricing near "normal" if that's a thing in Disneyland?

I see the bowling alley place looks decent price wise and has burgers/pizza/sushi! Anyone eat there lately? How was the food/service?

TIA

Splitsville is an underrated gem. You don't even have to bowl--the food is surprisingly good (especially the sushi, which blows me away every time how fresh and good it is), and the service is great too.

DTD
Paseo or Centrico very similar. Start with Guac/Salsa and Chips.
Din Tai Fung
GCH
Napa Rose
GCH Grill (not the bar) for quick service. Great option when at DCA and what a better and relaxing experience
DL
Bengal BBQ
Blue Bayou (for the experience)
Tiana Palace
Plaza Inn chicken plate
Corndog truck on Main Street or Stage Door Cafe
Ronto Wrap
Dole Whip at the Tiki Room entrance
DCA
Brunch at Lamplight Lounge
Parfait at Frozen Snowman

We went to splitsville at the end of July and had an excellent meal and service. We were able to walk up and had no wait. We look forward to going back next trip.

We also really enjoyed the lounge at the DLH. It’s not on the app for some reason. Open Wed-Sun. It’s nice and quiet and the food was excellent. Service was also excellent. We liked it so much, we ate there twice. Lol. We walked up both times.

We have kinda given up on table service in the parks for now. Haven’t had the best experiences lately. And don’t really like being tied down to a reservation time either.
